Hey, Atari Legenders!!

Postby Adrenalin » Thu Jul 08, 2004 5:45 pm

Hey there,

Do you also need box scans for utils such as Degas Elite etc?

I have a couple of utils boxes but I didn't want to scan them in just incase you couldn't use them.

Please let me know!!

Cheers,

Assassin / Adrenalin UK

Hey Adrenaline,

Thanks a lot for the beautifull scans, I will add these ASAP.

About degas...Well, There will be a util section on AL one day, however this is for the future, as we plan to do a demo section first (the new paci demo, he ;-) ) ... But you may always scan it, we will use it, eventually!

Thanks again,
Maarten

Feel free to use any grab from LGD that you want. You are right, they are nearly all animated GIFs because it just took up so much less space on the actual web page and you could do some quite cool sequences too, but they can be easily ripped apart into single frames again. The only comment I have is don't restrict yourself to 320x200 or you will be chopping out quite a few parts of good ST games that hit the borders.

Cheers,

Rich

Hey Rich,

Cool to have you on this forum for a change. Well, thanks a lot for letting us use your shots. I also think that animated gifs are neat, but we have made an agreement not to use anim gifs for AL.

About the border shots ... dob't worry, we restrict ourselfs to 320*200 png's where possible. They can be nelarged easily. For games using boarders, we grab larger shots ... Take a look at Lethal Xcess for example!

well, hope to see you here more often!

Cheers,
Maarten

I read it every other day, just have never posted before :) Anyway sorry this is kinda off-topic for the thread. If I was re-doing LGD I would probably use PNGs too, especially for the STE specific games. But I'm a sucker for the nice anims you can do with GIF, especially at the start of Psygnosis games! :)

Cheers,

Rich

I second baby duck over there and wish you welcome to your partaking in the forums here rich!
Also, there ARE animated png's, they are called MNG but you need some form of plugin to use them usually ... and now when the patents are off the gifs (right?) they are hardly worth it I suppose. I also tried to find a good MNG editor once, but without that much success.
Just thought I'd mention it anyhow if someone didn't know about it (mng's that is)

If only browsers supported them natively, that would be very cool! Then you wouldn't be stuck with the 256 colour limit of animated GIFs.
