Atari ST revisions

Postby ppera » Tue Jul 01, 2008 12:45 pm

As I see, there is some confusion about diverse Atari ST board revisions. This thread is attempt to clarify things, determine diverse ST board revisions and state exact differences among them. Please add own experiences, board version descriptions and maybe some photos. Only ST, not STE.

What I have:
520ST C070243 REV H : It is with separated floppy and power supply. 6 TOS ROM chips, and no support for 2 chip TOS. RAM is in 16x 1bit chips .
520STM C070243 REV I : almost same as above. Only difference is support for 2 chip TOS in form of 74LS11 and some soldering pads marked with 1M-256K .

1040STFM C103175 REV 1.1 : with integrated floppy and PSU . RAM is under PSU, and is in 8x 4bit chips . This is probably one of last ST versions, from about 1990. PLCC chips are soldered, there is place for blitter. Pic is in 'Please post a clean...' thread.

Mega ST 1MB C103544-00 REV.1. : 4bit RAM chips 8x.

to be continued...

Hi!

I have collected at least some drawings of the boards.
Real photos might be better but so we can see what we don't have so far :D

Cool.
One hint, on picture "board_tt030 REV G.gif" we can see chip tagged as BLiTTER.
I far as I know TT has no BLiTTER. :)
