[WANTED] Omikron Basic + Compiler

You might wonder why I'm interested in Omikron as I'm known to be a diehard GFABASIC fan?
Simply to port some old GWBASIC programs which have line numbers and I don't have the time to fully rewrite them in GFA.
Explicitly I do not want Omikron v5, GEM editors suck!
Even a cartridge image of the first Omikron versions would be of use for me.

Have you looked on the SuperGau CD .. I *think* (not certain as in work) that there's a version on there.

If anyone else is interested, I will mail it as well.
It is the german version 3.5 with the compiler.

At this point I must admit that I'm not that impressed. Being used to the fast GFA editor, the Omikron one seems slow and buggy. Well I don't wanna switch, just port some GWBASIC/QBASIC sources

Uwe Berkhan itself says that the Omikron.Basic 3.6 is more useful with the Falcon030 than the Omikron.Basic 5.x. Omikron.Basic was a bit buggy in the early versions (2.0, 3.0), but the newer versions work very well! I was happy with GFA Basic 2.0 for the ST but I was very disappointed with GFA Basic 3.x on the Falcon.

Does someone know what the last version of Omikron was before that aweful GEM version appeared? I'm in need of just the editor/interpreter for a project.

I already have 3.01, however versions 3.5 and 3.6 are mentioned in this thread. Is 3.6 the last text based version?

Maybe I was not clear. I'm looking for the version just prior to the GEM release. The last text based (non-GEM) version of omikron.

Sorry for the late reply. The latest useable version before 5.x was the 3.6 (interpreter) + 3.5 (compiler). There was also a 4.0 (both, an interpreter + a compiler) for the TT, but these versions were nearly identically to the 3.6/3.5 versions except for the 68881/2 FPU code capabilities of the 4.0 compiler. The interpreter 3.6 seems to be the latest and best one (the interpreter 4.0 freezes in Hatari while the interpreter 3.6 runs very well).

I use hatari for testing so 4.0 would be no good. Can I find 3.6 on the net somewhere already? Googled around a bit, no luck so far.

I am looking for version 5 of Omikron BASIC. I want to try it on my falcon. Since Berkhan.com no longer distributes it and will not respond to my emails regarding it, can someone tell me where I can find it?

Could you mail the details of the freeze to Hatari-devel mailing list (preferred) or to Hatari forum area here?

Details should include at least OS on which you run Hatari, Hatari version (and is it one with WinUAE "falcon" or oldUAE CPU core) , and output from Hatari's "--trace gemdos" option until freeze.
