STOS Adventure Creator & Misty

Postby Trooper » Wed Sep 11, 2002 12:52 pm

I'm looking for something called the STOS Adventure Creator, anyone know what it is and how I can get my hands on it?

Also if someone has a copy of the STOS "Misty" extension I'd be really grateful!

Cheers!!

STAC

Postby PaulB » Wed Sep 11, 2002 10:33 pm

Here you go Troop, If you mean STAC by STOS Adventure Creater then go to this page on Zogging Hell. It was released on one of the early ST Review magazines. You'll find the Misty Extension either on one of these mag disks (ST User. ST Review) or it'll be on ST Format which is on another website altogether.

Misty

I found it!
Apparently there was a Stos Misty Extension Crew who have done a demo disk. Also on the disk is the STOS Misty Extension Installer.

http://perso.wanadoo.fr/gtmoa/crews/stos02.htm.

Hope this is the correct one. If not, i'm sure i've got it somewhere, just a matter of digging it out. If no joy, give us a shout.

Paul

Thank you so much for trying to help!

The downloads doesn't seem to work from mOa's site so I'll just have to wait 'til they do :)

Once again thank you for helping me!

Cheers!

Stos Adventure Creator

Postby deano10 » Mon Jan 14, 2008 9:42 pm

Hi, Deano here - the creator of the Stos Adventure Creator :)

The Stos Adventure Creator and the Stos Graphic Adventure Creator can be found in emulator format at:

http://www.deanoweb.co.uk/silly.htm

Let me know if you write any games with it, I would like to see them.

Wow it must be sixteen years since I wrote SAC.

By the way, SAC and STAC are two completely different programs.

STAC was a commercial adventure writer by Incentive Software (they went on to release a lot of Freescape-based games as well as the 3D Construction Kit).

STOS Adventure Creator was (as confirmed by the author above) a different program.

Welcome aboard Deano by the way.

Happy Days

NIce to be here. The Atari ST/STE and STOS hold lots of great memories for me. Waking up to receive disks from contacts with lots of goodies. I also remember working on diskzines like Stosser, Power and ST+

Oh happy days :)

Ah yes the STOS Gigazine, that sounds familiar :) I used to do the STOS page in Power diskzine and ST+ Fanzine. I think one of my more popular articles were the ones for the missing link extention. I was the last editor of Stosser when it ended.

I think I have just gone back to my youth, I think I'll dream about STOS tonight :)

Hey Deano!! :D
Good to see you're still out there. I've lost touch with just about everyone from the Stosser days except my mate in Newcastle who i'm seeing next week - he still has a loft full of undiscovered gems from back then. And i'm going to take it all back to mine and really annoy the missus.
I'm living back up north now so maybe i'll get in touch with Kirsten as well.

PS There's something I need to tell you about her. . . . . 8O

Greetings Deano.

I suspect a previous contact with you but i'm not sure though. I'm in search for a walkthrough or something for a game called "Murder on the Dairy Express". A text based adventure as you seem to know.
Can you or somebody else help me with this game?
Thanks!

Regards, Cees.

Hi

Murder on the Diary Express (starring Detective Sargent Silly from Mobsters City) was written in STAC by James L Mathews of Power Diskmag/Power PD/Top Byte software for Silly Software. It was written especially for the Silly Games Pack which included Silly Reels and Grannies Garden - and not forgetting the Major Bumsore Dancing Teeth demo :) I never personally completed it myself so I can only advise you track down James himself or hope to find someone who has completed it.

By the way - I know who the murderer is in this game because James told me :) I can tell you if you want to know :)

Thanks Deano for your reply.
I will try to contact James again although a previous attempt to do so failed. Either the e-mail adress i found then was wrong or he didn't bother to reply.
And no,don't tell me who the murderer is. I like surprices

Regards Cees.
