Saint & Windows 95

Postby Silver Surfer » Mon Jun 03, 2002 1:07 pm

Is Saint compatible with Windows 95? I can't get it to work. I get the error message "Unable to create DirectX8 interface (Maybe not installed)". I have DirectX 8.0a.

Hi,

I got the same error message this morning and sort it out by installing Direct X 8.1. I still have problems with Window mode (probably due to my poor hardware on my laptop) but otherwise it is working fine in Fullscreen.

Hope this could work for you.

Cheers,

MoodST

Well sadly that won't do it for me, DirectX8.1 isn't supporting Windows 95. I really don't want to install Windows 98 again cause since I installed Windows 95(last September) I haven't had one single harddrive crash...If there is a workaround I would be very happy. :)

Yes, I have this problem too.
I have just a PC config with NT 2000 Pro with DirectX v8 installed.
If I read the F.A.Q., SainT need Microsoft DirectX8 API but I suppose that's a BIG BUG from Microsoft.

You can download and install DirectX v8.1 directly in http://microsoft.com/windows/directx/downloads/drx81.asp.

8) I have no more any problem !
