Problem with Saint 1.99d and pasti

Postby keili » Thu May 19, 2005 8:16 am

I've been told, that pasti-images larger than 1MB are not accepted by Saint.

It's a same case for Steem. Imo It's a limitation of dll for some reasons, i think.

Hmm, I have no problems loading huge Pasti images under Steem. I just tried loading a 2Mb image. Just in case I tried both a separate file and inside a zip, both ways worked fine.

I do get a crash under Saint. Didn't yet investigate if the problem is in the Dll or in Saint. Even when it works ok under Steem, it might still be my fault. Don't worry, either way we'll fix this shortly enough.

Thanks for the report. And if you have more details, please let us know.

humm have to check this in SainT. I let you know if I find something wrong, but I remember I don't do memory allocation (I think Pasti engine does).

I can confirm, that the pasti-images realised with the 0.4b version of the software if upper than 1MB are not accepted by Saint 1.99d!

It is not the same case for Steem 3.2 where´s everything is practically Ok!

Ok I just checked the code and it's fault to SainT, not Pasti. There is a bug wich prevent to load any STX image with no "standard" size (I mean sector*side*tracks). STX file is not supposed to have particular size to support any future extension, so I have to change my buggy code.

I'll fix that bug in the next SainT release.

Ok just before my vacations I wanted to fix that nasty bug. You can download SainT 1.99e on my website. Large Pasti image files should work properly now.
