The Saint was mainly made in purpose to play advanced demos and all together try to beat all those sync-protection schemes thru as real realistic emulation as possible. Leonard put the efforts in emulating in the best sound and demoplay-ability as possible.

But you have done a good work with the list. Keep it up.

Somewhere in the future many of those menus will probably run anyway
due to the progress of as accurate demo emulation possible.

Good job!

Best Regards

Chris
I think that you are wasting your time and effort on Saint.
by this post and your previous post this emulator has way way way to many bugs and it looks like the emulator author is not interested by your lists.
You should test the menus on Steem as this is by far the best emulator around or even test Amiga games on Winuae or Winfellow (Winfellow is or was looking for testers).
This is my opinion

thanks cpukett for bug report.

it looks like the emulator author is not interested by your lists.

That's true the game compilation are not my priority actually ( and sorry I work on many other things than SainT.)

I really don't like the way "Louie Douwar" speak. cpukett can love SainT and try to make it better by reporting bugs. If you (louie) dislike SainT go ahead and leave the SainT thread.

I didn't think much of his attitude either. SainT is a great emulator and along with STEem should be considered by any ST enthusiast whether he wants to watch demos or play games. And why bring up an Amiga emulator in an "ATARI-FORUM". Is it just me LOL

I totally agree with you Leonard and Unseenmenace.
Louie seems to be in wrong forum  .
Keep up your good work , Leonard. And also cpukett, who spends much time testing every menu disk :D .

If you are not going to debug games let everyone know so that they dont waste time (well are you going to debug games later on how about a straight answer)
and how can cpukett make Saint better by reporting bugs if you are not going to fix them ????
And at least i use my real name not like every other cowardly chicken hiding behind a false name
Louie
And no i dont dislike SainT i just prefer STeem

Yeah... Saint is a great emulator :)

Currently testing all the Automation disks.... and when a game doesn't work on Steem then 9 times out of 10 it runs ok on Saint :)

Great work Leonard.

It's not hard to find Leonard's real name. And actually you must be only person on Atari who still don't know his real name. Does "Oxygene", "St Sound" or "312 sprites!!!" rings a bell ?

To make it real short, Saint is an emulator made by demomaker(s) for demomakers. The DEBUG mode is bless, the sound emulation rocks. Try to watch the Froggies Over The Fence in another emulator. Ok it can run games too, but that's a side effect of the dedication put into the correct emulation of the nastiest/coolest tricks seen in demos.

To have the best of both worlds, use Saint & Steem.

Do you honestly believe any of us are "hiding". I for one have nothing to hide and will happily tell you my real name if its important to you. The majority of the regulars on Atari-Forum are just using handles they had back in the good old days of the ST scene which is the obvious thing to do quite frankly.

Both Steem and Saint are masterpieces. Disregarding what you prefer or what you might consider better, they are both great. Both Leonard and Steem authors are extremely friendly and open. Furthermore, I know how much they respect each other.

So, let’s not let anybody ruin the friendly spirit that we have in the ST scene. Don’t bother replying to him any longer, he might even be trolling.

Hey cpukett,

I run my debugger yesterday night to try game compilations you mentioned (I never tryed them before :-))

It seems there is several differents emulation bugs and it explain various bugs. The good news is that I found a little bug in YM register reading, which crashed menus using music vu-meters. So now every "bomb" in FOV menu with vu-meter could be explained ( are will be fixed in the next saint version).
Turrican2 should be a keyboard problem. That problem should be fixed because turrican2 is a very good game.
For the rest, I need time ( for exemple superior menu 80 : the game crash because of a nasty anti-trace software protection. That kind of emulation bugs need long time to fix)

thanks again for your long and detailed report.
Leonard/OXYGENE.

I second Bodz on that point. Also as Shw pointed out somethings don;t run on Steem, but then work a lot of the time in Saint.

I think that bug lists like this (whether they're for Demos, Compils, single cracks, utils - whatever) only go to Help Leonard (and the Steem developers) to improve what are already fantastic packages

My only problem with Saint is that when I exit after using it in Full-Screen mode it switches the monitor off as it can't handle the Hz rate of the refresh on my desktop .. end up having to reboot my PC :(

So I always run in Window'd mode to play safe :)

Really ?? Hummm could you detail please ? I mean, does the screen goes black when launching saint (in the graphic user interface ?). Or does saint works perfectly in fullscree, and problem occurs when you "exit" saint ?
