Yes you are correct. But it doesnt really matter, remember this is an emulator... :-)

The authors are not going to emulate a layer (SCSI) that isn't needed.

I would imagine they would just make certain reads and writes to the DMA port pass network data to/from Windows in the form that is compatible with the DynaPORT driver.

Just like hard drive emulation isn't really an emulation of a host adapter + hard drive.

This is partially true. Partially not. Some adapters, as mentioned ICD Link use specific command sending, what is not same as ACSI or straight SCSI. Goal was of course override of some limits (1GB max. size in first palce). So, emulating it would require some extra code beyond ACSi or native SCSI (as by Falcon).

Hard drive emulation is an emulation of host adapter + hard drive in fact.
Only that sometimes host adapters does almost nothing relevant for emulation :D

Just curious...What is an MV16

Will you support other cart images (like multiface/lls/ultimate ripper etc)

Instead of having pre-determined graphic modes, why don't you just have a re-configurable window, like steem does

On the debugger screen, how about adding an option for breakpoints to stop or pause emulation to look for or at specific code or instructions (like steem does)

MV16 was an external sound cartridge that (I think) came with BAT 2 to give the game better soundtrack(s)?

Correct, I've got BAT 2 and the MV16. I think its a single channel 16-bit DAC and it can be used with the tracker program Audio Sculpture as well.

Would love some form of drive sound emulation via fdrawcmd.sys, ala WinUAE.

Once other things are sorted out of course :D

Saint already has floppy noise emulation. You just have to click a checkmark in the options.

I mean using fdrawcmd.sys to control the actual floppy drive. This makes your PC floppy sound like it's accessing disks as the ST would have.

SainT v2.10

Cet émulateur Atari ST français vient d'être mis à jour. Les améliorations sont les suivantes:
- RAW Floppy support! Boot your fave game or demo directly using your good old floppy! Use "-floppy" command line option
- Small fix in movie file extension warning (always use .avi)
- speeded the fast-forward mode (press right control key during emulation)
- Dirext9 version
- STE DAC sound volume boost
- STE DAC Master Volume support added!
- removing DirectX dynamic texture support flag (seems to be a bit faster)
- fixed breakpoint red marker in debugger mode (use "-debug")
- centered sound debug gfx
- remove window resizing possibility
- fix a crash when a directx screen saver activate while saint is running
- More faster speedup mode (even in fullscreen) (keep the right CONTROL key pressed)
