Season #5 Roadmap

Postby simonsunnyboy » Sat Oct 15, 2011 7:44 am

Hello all,

STOT feels like it is a success afterall 8) We are up to 5 participants for each game and that's ok to make fun. Thanks for your support, fellow Atarians :)

Today the final round of season 4 is finishing and we have to select the games for season 5.

I personally think, we don't have to start a new poll. The list for season 4 was already rather long so I simply recommend that we play the next 20 titles in the list.

Shall we keep the 3 week turnaround or shall we go back to 2 weeks per game?

time for discussion, STOT is going into the normally annual between-seasons break ^^

cheers,
ssb

Dear STOT players,

another funny STOT Tournament season is over. Many thanks to all participants. I enjoyed the last season a lot as I did the seasons before.

Concratulation to Xerus for winning another season in a outstanding manner. Not only his scores were amazing, also his hints and stories about what’s going on in the games in higher levels nobody else reached.

This season we had quit a number of returns of STOT veterans, and each time I was happy that they still remember the STOT even that they had not enough time before to join again. Same to new players. Each time a new player enters a score I’m happy that the work that is spend in keeping alive the STOT forum is worth the time.

Duration a rounds in Season #5
This season we tried out, that one round lasts 3 weeks. I myself like it, but maybe you have another one, so we set up a poll to get opinions from the players.

STOT Classics
Also the new STOT Classics fullfill its mission. In the STOT Tournament we already played most of the classics and blockusters, so now we play the underrated gems of ST Games. From time to time these gems aren’t that shining as they looked like in the firstplace, so it’s always good to have a classic game in the STOT Classics to play if you don’t like the actual STOT Tournament game

Roadmap
Roadmap for Season #5 (like we did the years before)

15th to 29th of October: Send your wishlists:
Please send a list of 18 Games as a PM to me. Or reply to this thread. SSB had a good purposal: you could use the list of Season #4 and put the next 18 games into your wishlist.

29th of October to the 15th of November (I will return from the Kick Off World Championship)
We vote on the combined wishlists to find out the games we will play. The poll if we play 2 weeks or 3 weeks is finished at time, so we will have a shorter or longer list.

People I like to thank for their help to the STOT in season #4
First I like to thank SSB for his help and his ideas. Also thanks to Christos for having various chats about STOT topics. Thanks to Marakatti to ensure that there are Infos for the games at Atarimania, also thanks to the rest of the Atarimania Team for the nice page.

So I hope of your participatin during the wishlist and vote phase and then enjoy season #5 starting the 15th of November

As I'M out of ideas that have not been submitted yet, I'll play whatever comes up as long as the games haven't been played as of yet for STOT.

Thank you, it was a pleasure to play with all atarians

The next season will be exciting because there will be a new winner !!!
I will no longer be counted in the rankings, I'll play just as a guest ;)
I hope there will be many participants.

I've been away for a while, but I want to come back and play some more. So I will try to be more active next season.

I'd like to propose that for the next season we play on the Falcon with falcon or falcon enhanced games. We keep the STOT classics but I always wanted to do a falcon season, and with hatari getting close to falcon compatibility even st people can play. Possible games could include:

Downfall
Llamazap
Rave
Painium Disaster
Spice
Teknoball
Impulse
Killing Impact
Double Bobble 2000
Steel Talons

and others
Felix qui potuit rerum cognoscere causas.
