Warlock's Quest? Or Warlord Quest?

OK, got the right one :)

First attempt: 2670.

's Quest - Mug UK Attempt #1 - 2670.png

I got stuck at the end of the level (to the right) in that I killed all the baddies (inc. the spider) but I couldn't get back up onto the level above.

Had to kill myself by walking on the water.

This was my third attempt actually, didn't bother to post the first two.

It's strange that you can't skip the intro for the game.

Is it possible to use the objects ?
F1, F2 and F3 seems useful but I don't know for what :)

Thank you Xerus :D

I tried a lot of keybaord keys myself in the beginning. But I think you use them immediately. For example the potion in glass gives you more vitality straight away. Those red potions gives you more spell power. The magic books gives a new spell level. And the things you see in the objects box is the last thing you have taken.

But if you press F1, F2, F3 you can change, is it the magic level it's called? I don't know what purpose that have, but it has to be something I guess. We'll probably find it out eventually.

Just to inform you, Automation 070 from planetemu doesn't work. (This was not the lgd version or the others with "[a]". Don't know if they work, but didn't want to try it). It stops when it loads for the first time in the game, it won't continue. I have found another version which works better. This one Warlock's Quest (1988)(ERE)[cr Bladerunners]. But I haven't come very far, only through that other warlock in red who fires at you. So I don't know how well that works either. It may bomb you when you come to the last level, who knows? I hope not.

If you'll see on the image above, you'll see a sword standing on a plate. The sword can be taken, I don't know what it gives you, didn't find out. But if you stand on that plate and press down on your joystick you will be teleported to another destination, above the underground, earlier in the game. You will also come across a tree, early in the game, which has en entrance. With that entrance you can climb down to the underground, or up from the underground. You can see the ladder very clearly in the underground. For using this functionality you press down on your joystick as well.

I have noted that there are more plates around in the level, which teleports you. Haven't checked where they port you? But maybe they will just port you to somewhere nearby, either aboveground or underground.

I also like to welcome you Amimiti. Great start with your detailed hints. I hope you enjoy the STOT.

I will check Marcers DVD for more versions of the game cause my original disk (was included in a compilation) won't work at all :-(

Here's a working Pasti-version --> http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-st ... 21475.html

It's a very same game than Warlock's Quest, but was released in USA with name Warlock.

I played the Bladerunners version. The game Warlock is another game that was released later and is a clone of a 8 Bit game.

My first score: 7772

Attention !
The game is identical but the system scoring is different.
You earn more points with US version !

Interesting, how's that possible? a 50/60Hz difference? A bug-fixed release?

Well if they went to the trouble of changing the title screen and renaming the game for the US market, it's highly plausible that they change some scoring system details.

I still haven't played, I can't find a download of the bladerunners version, I don't have any others.

The Bladerunners version is here:

It's called "Warlock's Quest (1988)(ERE)[cr Bladerunners]".

The leeching is too important with this game.
A classification would be more accurate compared to the level reached.

The game is one of these unique ones I love the ST for. It's a nice shooter with to much RPG elements who maybe aren't that intuitive.

How to score a lot of points: Stay in Level 2 and shoot as long as you have 6000-9000 points, then go further.
