axels magic hammer

thats it for me, I love that game :)

I remember when I bought it, and I played it for -years- and could never beat it. It took a cracked infinite lives version (PP menu I think) before I could finish it, and man, the end sucks - it's basically a 'well done, you win' screen. :D

Because there is already one Pac Man , we put Mrs. Munchie out of the list. Also I tried extase and I don't think that it will be a funny competition, but we could try it in Season #4. Therefor comes in: Arkanoid. We could do another compo with the CPC as well as with the Abbuc Bundesliga (Atari XL) because this game exist on all plattforms. Also a lucky looser: Blox. I need on Tetris kind of game to beat Xerus at least one time :-)

I would like to see more participants for this new season.
I'm willing to participate but i would like not to be counted towards the final classification !
We need an open competition to give a better attraction and with me it's not really possible

Oh get over yourself! Noone really counts you in the competition anyway :P.

As for my games I'd like to remove some from the list but generally I am fine. We'll eliminate games one by one (I have veto power and I will exercise it and yes that's a threat :P)

in fact, i've just played it through to te end again, and the ending is even shitter than that :D you kill the last boss, then your character unties the girl, then the game stops.

i guess they never expected anyone to finish it ?

All,
I'm not sure if the list is finalised, but could I be presumptuous and assume that that Paradroid 90 and Continental Circus will start off STOT #3, as they have the most votes?

The reason I want to know now is that I have a meeting with some few computer enthusiasts this Sunday the 20th of September. (Melbourne Atari Computer Enthusiasts - http://mace.atari.org). We meet on the third Sunday of every month. If the tournament schedule suits us, we can play two games per month on this day and we'll have a few more players in the comp.

If this is OK, I will get disk images of Paradroid 90 and Continental Circus ready for the weekend.

That sounds great Ragstaff. To be honnest, due to a Kick Off tournament last weekend, I had not time to finalize the order of the games, because we have to reorder them to ensure that we do not play one shooter after the other and so on. I will post a proposal asap.

The plan so far was, that we start at the 3rd of October. But if you meet already at the 20th, of course you could allready play the first game.

OK, we don't need the comp to start early, we will just start early ourselves! ;-)

Looking at the calender, we only need to play one game on Sunday, because if the comp starts on the 3rd of October the first game ends on the 17th of October. We meet again on the 18th of October, so we can play the second and third game of STOT #3 on that day.

There is a #stot chnnel on irc (have a look at the tread). Most of the time the organizers are online at weekend, so it's a good place to come around. The first sunday afte a round started is a good date to decide, if a game is suitable for the next 12 days or not, so if the people who are present on sunday in the #stot channel decide, that a game is not suitable, we will stop the compo and continue with a game that was not in the top 24 but also on the list (e. g. Kid Gloves 2).

Some people also wished, that the time of the compo changes. Threre were people who wants a longer period and people who wants a shorter period. 2 Weeks is ok, because you more or less have 2 weekends, so a good game takes long enough, and after a bad game, there always comes a good game :-)

At weekend, SSB and I heard, that the CPC forum is down at the moment due to some internal motivation problems of the inner circle of the german CPC scene (absolutly unknown to us Atarians). So the Arkanoid competition will hopefully take place when this problems on the CPC side are fixed.
