Postby ThorN » Sat Feb 21, 2009 8:21 pm

After our historic combined compo, we continue where we stopped.

Xerus proposed this Missile Command clone:

So let's blast

Fast game and easy gameplay this time :)

I played with the standard bonus mode (Bonus City 10,000), my high score is 25580 :

6470 for a start

Certainly room for improvement, I played while chatting with my gf at the same time ;)

The Automation disk does not like German TOSes (I think a problem of STARTGEM)...I had to use a UK 1.02 TOS...

14820, nice clone. I have to get used to the right rocket launcher, the 8 Bit version only have one in the middle

Klapauzius in the scene, cool :D
Good score Coy ;)
My first attempt: 24,165
This level is vicious because it's very difficult to see the missiles !
It's a basic game but fun, isn't it? :)

Good score Coy

thanks :) i think i have quite some chance to make it as i played the game again a little bit but fail beetween 20 and 25.000 everytime

This level is vicious because it's very difficult to see the missiles !

agreed ! this is the one that make me loose eveytime... you have to try to preserve as much as cities as possible before you reach this one, so that you earn lot of bonus points; after that, things are getting very complicated :? (Bonus City = 10,000, i hope eveybody agree with that? this the default settings)

It's a basic game but fun, isn't it? :)

indeed although quite irritating at some time (for the bombs and also for the fact you can loose all your cities in one round when getting in further levels), very frustating :!:

I have to get used to the right rocket launcher, the 8 Bit version only have one in the middle

same for me ! it's a real extra difficulty for me too, as i'm familiarized with the 2600 version :!: quite troubling

anyway, i gonna rest a little and wait for someone to beat my score before giving another try  (still, i hope it won't happen too soon...)('good' luck)

Hmm, another game I'm not very good at :D
5910 is my best so far (it wasn't much fun with the synaptic touchpad, so I used my graphics tablet which is slightly easier... but I still suck).

The game is a good choice Xerus. It's relaxing and challenging especially because of the amount of your scores that are better than mine :-)

here a new one 24045

Wow thanks Xerus! He sounds like a really nice guy as well - I like how he insisted that the gameplay be totally defensive (and that the game never ends, because there is no winning a nuclear war).
