Hello People,

Just kidding. Look UAE dev...: http://fengestad.no/fs-uae/features

On-Screen GUI With Joystick Control
Opened the on-screen menu while playing Lemmings

FS-UAE is fully controllable with a gamepad, with an on-screen GUI, which means that you can easily swap floppies and load save states with your gamepad. In addition to being great on your personal computer, FS-UAE is also well suited to be started from an emulator frontend running on a HTPC.

The screenshot shows the on-screen GUI. From here, you can (among other things) change input options and insert floppy images. The 3D effect is only active while in menu mode, of course. When playing the game, the game occupies the entire window.

Cross-Platform Online Play

A unique feature is support for cross-platform online play. You can now play Amiga games against (or with) friends over the Internet. The online play feature is designed in a way which avoids de-synchronization issues.

I must say that FS-UAE is really cool, as much as Hatari (or actually even better)

Just try it.

Cheers

Since updating to a newer Intel mac, my old uae setup stopped working. Nice find.

Actually, Frode has committed patches that were given to him to get FS-UAE to compile on PPC. As you say, he does not have a PPC Mac himself so he cannot supply a PPC binary. Hopefully, the person who was able to get FS-UAE compiled on PPC will upload a binary somewhere.

It should be fairly straightforward to write a game launcher (in any language) from where one can set options (e.g. with joystick) before launching Hatari to run the game. If one wants to change options at run-time, launcher could send them to Hatari either through its control socket, or by killing Hatari with memory snapshot autosaving and re-starting it with new options.

You can already forward Hatari devices over network with e.g. "socat". It's explained in the "MIDI and networking" section in Hatari's doc/midi-linux.txt document. Same should work also for serial, so as long as the game support online play over some Atari interface, you should be able to play it over internet.
