emulator on pc screen "permi-etch"

Postby charles » Thu Jul 05, 2018 4:04 am

I call it permi-etch
but I think all us computer loyalist know what im talking about .

its when u use a program so much that it etches (burns)itself onto your computer screen permanitly,,,,

I did not believe this was possible (or have heard much of this cause gfa never did such a thing)
however with the help of steem and my recentily most used midi sequencing program... I have a nice image remaining on my screen after I close steem .....

anybody know if steem has the ability to invert its mono moniter emulation???

Since it emulates Atari ST hardware, use the control panel colour settings to invert the screen (change colour #0, and the screen will invert).
Ain't no space like PeP-space.

Actually I know it as "screen burn-in". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screen_burn-in
There's example code on the gfa master disk or in Frank's book showing how to patch the editor colors.

thanks guys
two good suggestions.... my fav sequencer edit tracks has the ability to set the black and white so inverting it is no problem , I used to be afraid my Atari monitors would suffer from burn-in so I would alternate mono invertion every other month ...however Cubase does not have such a feature to invert screen colors .(which is what seems to make the control panel appealing)

I used to use the command
setcolor 0,1
setcolor 1,0
to change the colors within gfa ....will check franks books...
happy july the 4th usa-ers !!!
