viewing pictures on atari stE

Postby Victini123 » Tue Jun 07, 2016 7:21 pm

Hi there I am new to atari emulation. I am using Steem to run atari STE, I am trying to view pictures, as shown in this video:
https://youtu.be/jXLLmu812QY?t=5m10s
I have tried 4 different programs and none of them seem to work. I have also tried gif, png and jpeg. Is there some sort of rule about how the picture files have to be beforehand? I don't really understand that sort of stuff but I have photoshop so I could resize/ save them with a particular option or something?

One of the best image viewers for the ST is Gemview.

I have tried the Gemview link and I don't seem to be able to get it working, the readme talks about different files than are provided on the downloads page. I try to run the .app but I don't know what to do with the .pax etc. The image viewing solution I want, has to be rubbish. I'm not trying to make images look as nice as possible on the Atari, rather, I am trying to make them look like they came from an 8 bit machine.
