Some new Pure Energy and X-Static menus

I've uploaded a couple of menus that I don't think are available elsewhere to the above site.

Alas, because the disks I have are so old there's a number I can't convert (I also have X-Static menus 3, 5, 6 and 13 and a number of Pure Energy disks but can't get them 100%. I'll keep on trying, but it's frustrating!)

Enjoy...

Hi MD,
Thanks for this great gift! I like very much this kind of days :)
Also X-static logo on issue #4 is probably one of the best logos I have ever seen! Nice surprise.
Cheers mate.
Brume.

If you file-copy the menus to an emulated drive .. we can probably gap-fill (or re-create) the missing files .. and copying bootsectors from one disk to another is easily done via WinHex.

Maybe post up the "copied so far but need fixing" disks and it can be a mini-project?

Are you trying to image from a PC or a real ST ?

The reason being is that we can re-create the packed files from the original cracks as I'm sure where Pure Energy were concerned, they just placed other groups work onto a menu with some of their own packs? Or did they have a proper cracker? Their work was towards the end of my ST owning/using period, so not too sure.

A PC. Last time I saw an ST was when I was throwing my two into a skip at the Salford tip (they were knackered anyway).

MUG, that's not a bad idea at all. The X-Static menus definitely use The Replicants' cracks, so I'll post them here soon. Of course, if the menu itself doesn't work (which is the case for a couple of Pure Energy menus) then it's a non-starter.

JustExhumed,
Could you post non working Pure Energy disks, too? We could try to repair them, even if the intro doesn't work (have a couple of PE intros without the full disks).
Greetings!
Brume.

A lot of the PE menus ended up on demo compilations like POV and similar places - so we might be able to fix them .. or if the depack header is corrupt, but the packed data OK, then they can be unpacked and repacked.

Here's X-Static 5 (corrupt). Menus 3 and 13 just won't convert at all.

Managed to do X-Static 6 and Pure Energy 81a after trying them a few times so they're on the usual place.

Understand what you're saying Brume and Mug, so I'll post some of the corrupt PE menus too. As I'm using VGACOPY it just won't even try with disks that haven't got a valid FAT. PE64B (Zool data), PE69 (Championship Manager Italia - perhaps the disks for this is knackered as this doesn't seem right) won't even try to convert.

Pure Energy 80 (corrupt menu).

The games on it are European Champions (STE) and Hector.

Here's two rare and (AFAIK) perfect menus that I haven't seen anywhere else (he says...)

That'll be all from me for a couple of days.

England v Portugal + Manchester pubs = :P

Brume ..

Tried the fixed version and under TOS v1.4, it just does infinite boot, then reset ..

Not got any other TOS on test machine, so will try some others tonight but thought I'd best let you know.

Welcome aboard sir/madam.

Glad to see more and more names from the past turning up at the old folks home that is Atari Forum :)

(oh, we do have the odd few kids running around, but a clip around the ear usually suffices, but don't let matron catch you ..... !)

Sorry to dig up this old thread but I still have the disks for Pure Energy 54, 59a, 70a and 70b, plus X-Static 13. If anyone wants to have a crack at them then let me know and I'll send you the disks.

They may be corrupt beyond repair but it's worth somebody having a go with them.

I'd love to get them :D
And of course it won't be a problem to repair any damaged data, I like very much to work on menus!
Let me know if you'd agree to send the disks to France. An alternative solution may be found with english members of AL ;)

Of course I have no problem sending the disks to France. PM me your address and they'll be on their way soon.

Good news Muggie! So the project about missing menus could be officially re-open.

Got to test it out tonight with the 1 Gig external SCSI box I got .. also plug in my old 100MB drive and see if I can still read the data off it.

Then I can at least start imaging up the Uncle Harry disks once more.

I hope I can then plug the external SCSI box into a SCSI card on my main PC and read off the partitions ...
