rich wrote:On a side note I'm having real trouble with MSA on my Falcon.. lots of the disks are formatted up to track 80, and MSA just can't read that track in most cases, which makes it fail the entire bloody disk - VERY annoying. I try floimg on the PC too, but that more often than not doesn't copy the disk properly - it gives no errors, but the software nearly always bombs out (3 bombs) other than in rare cases. I downloaded JAYMSA which looks great, but crashes when you click 'Disk Compression' in the menu, right after entering a file name.

Hi,

I would like to have so many floppies for testing some software what I write.
But I have only couple hundert, most written by myself.
In any cases what you write about bad imaging with floimg makes not much sense - if program reports no reading errors, images should be OK.

Causes for bombs may be: incompability of SW with your Atari test machine
Floppies are made bad (with errors)
Some stupid error in your PC or Windows, which reports not floppy read errors
Some protection (not likely)

IF you want some better software for disk imaging, you should contribute at least little - to contact authors and describe problems. People does best to make programs to be useful and errorfree, but we can not know all possible situations.

Btw. I prepare something for floppy imaging on real Atari machines. It will be not limited on 80 tracks, or will stop at some error...
Chance for you to test it on Falcon...
It will be posted here in forum, when test version will be ready.

I guess I'm a bit late to this thread, but I used to swap disks with 'joe' of STD for a number of years, are there any old 'torment' intros on the disks? we lost them all years ago and it would be nice to stick them on our site :)

I believe megafile.atari.st was only temporary until everyone got what thay wanted after it was announced. I think the only way to get the stuff now is to make a direct request to those people who downloaded it at the time although you'll have to have a large attachment allowance in your email account :D

I might be dumb for asking

Postby DoctorVell » Sat Jun 02, 2007 8:08 am

Hi there,

I might be dumb for asking this here, but is it possible for ANYONE to put the entire archive of d-bug, Medway Bros, Automation, and ALL the other stuff (archives) on a CD/DVD? I want to run all the stuff on my STEEM because of the games out there. Thanks...

download it here http://www.planetemu.net/index.php?sect ... machine=34

Alternatively you could download GambaseST. You can find the details in a dedicated section of this forum.

use MSA v1.41 (old one).. its the best as far I know.

and for disks you get trouble with. use PASTI.

Pure nads 27 !??!?!!

Postby alephnaught » Wed Jun 20, 2007 2:23 pm

H152 and H153 are Pure nads #22 disk A and B , not PB #27 as listed. There is no such thing.

Shame really, I was hoping against hope that someone had carried on in our absence. ;)

Anyway the version there is the later edition released after PB #23, when we got our Falcon, and retroactively fixed the existing (3) issues to work on the 030!
