Cracked Games WANTED for the Project

Postby Goldrunner » Tue Mar 08, 2005 11:02 pm

I am starting this thread to list games that we have been unable to track down in the hope some kindly sole may have them! No doubt this list will grow and grow as the project starts looking for more obscure titles. If you can help with any of these please let me know!

Still wanted by the project:

Asteroidia (fully registered version)
Championship Manager End Of Season (published by Domark, not the version with the crack codes on screen all the time)
Championship Manager Italia (published by Domark)
Deep Thought (a Chess game)
Dreadnoughts (data disk Bismarck)
Dreadnoughts (data disk Ironclads)
Night Raider (aka Dive Bomber in the USA)
Pipe Mania (not the USA version Pipe Dream, this version was released in Europe by Empire)
Snott (full version by Graphic Visions)
Snott 93 (full version again by Graphic Visions)
UMS II: Nations At War (need v1.2.1, only v1.1 is currently avialable, can possibly be found on the re-release of UMS II)
UMS II: Nations At War (any other data disks, again these could be on the re-release)
UMS II: Nations At War - Planet Editor (as with other platforms this would have been sold seprately)

Games that have been found, many thanks to those who helped :D

Alien Thing (The Expert Edition) *** RESOLVED ***
Backgammon (by Atari) *** RESOLVED ***
Battle Zone (a horizonal shooter) *** RESOLVED ***
Death Sword (American version of Barbarian) *** RESOLVED ***
F29 Retaliator (a version that will accept the mission on Zero coverdisk 4) *** RESOLVED ***
Goldrunner II (just the separate scenary disks) *** RESOLVED ***
Jewels of Darkness (a trilogy of games by Level 9, not the games on Automation 500E) *** RESOLVED***
Lands of Havoc (not the one on the Automation menus) *** RESOLVED ***
Renegade (developed by Software Creations and published by Ocean) *** RESOLVED***
Substation (extra level Dalziel) *** RESOLVED***
Substation (extra level Itosho) *** RESOLVED***
Substation (extra level PacStation) *** RESOLVED***
Ultimate Arkanoid (done by Tex, as seen on Atari Legend) *** RESOLVED ***
Vigilante (developed by Emerald Software and published by US Gold) *** RESOLVED ***

I know some of these have been asked for before but you never know :D Many thanks in advance!

Finally soughted out those pesky Goldrunner II scenery disks using the Pompey Pirates crack which was not easy to do!. They are now on 3 seperate disks and are listed in GamebaseST as:

Goldrunner II
Goldrunner II - Scenery Disk 1
Goldrunner II - Scenery Disk 2

This one had been bugging me for a long time and a bit of a Holy Grail for me

goldrunner,

Can you give me more info on the golrunner II games? I like to add them as well, but don't know how. I got a message from Alex Herbert 2 months ago :

Hi,

Just to correct some information regarding Goldrunner II.

The graphics were actually by Alex Herbert (me) and John Dower. There were 2 additional "scenery disks" that could be purchased. Secnery Disk 1 had graphics by Martin Kenwright and Disk 2 had graphics by Pete Lyon.

The screenshots you have are the Pete Lyon graphics (probably the nicest thing about the game, LOL). The name of the graphic artist was read from the data disk and displayed on the title screen. The cracked versions somehow got the artists names jumbled up so that's why there may be some confusion.

Just one final bit of info - it was published in Europe by Microdeal and by MichTron in the US. (As was the case for many Microdeal/MichTron games.)

Nice site BTW!

Alex Herbert

cheers,
grave

Hi Marcer

I had noticed the large increase in doenloadable games from AL, you should be congratulated for all your hard work! Since you are mainly dealing with PD games and GBST is still working through commercial games they kind of complement each other at the moment. I have no doubt you will soon overtake this project because I'm collecting other game resources at the same time.

You are a credit to the Atari scene, keep up the good work :!:

Hi Grave

Many apologies nearly missed you post  Anyway this is all I know about the scenery disks:

Goldrunner II - Scenery Disk 1

Publisher: Microdeal
Released: October 1988
Developer: Martin Kenwright
Genre : Shoot'em Up - V-Scrolling

Scenery is light beige in appearance!

Goldrunner II - Scenery Disk 2

Publisher: Microdeal
Released: October 1988
Developer: Pete Lyon
Genre : Shoot'em Up - V-Scrolling

Scenery is dark purple in appearance!

The two scenery disks replaced disk 2 of the original release so in essence there are 3 scenery disks, one is just part of the the original game but they are all in the same format!

I have written developer as Pete Lyon or Martin Kenwright since the scenery disks contain no program code just graphics, so graphics artist and developer are interchangable here.

It would be more intressting to upload Commercial games instead, Belive me.
But there is too many silly ppl out there and abuse the site if commercial games pop up.

You make a good work too! Congrats! its getting really better and better!

Was the UMS II Planet Editor ever released for the ST? I would have sworn it wasn't. I had it on order for 6 months or more before being told it's release was cancelled.

I had a good look around for it when I first got net access and came across a text file on the old Microprose ftp site saying it was never released for the ST. I've also had a good look all over the net and never came across a release official or otherwise.

Looking again today, I still can't see any real reference to it being released on the ST, plenty for the Amiga. The only mention of it being owned was on a forum post here.

http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.ph ... b4ebfdb9ef

I'd love to be corrected, as I always wanted the Planet Editor. Does anyone have a copy?

Hi Zenichiro

Your probably right about the Planet Editor, it's listed just in case it was released :!: There was two scenary disks that I am pretty sure exsist however since they are consistantly advertised in ST Format over a 2 year period!

I'm sure i have all these packed away somewhere in the loft.

Do you want the disk images of them (they aren't protected) if so what format?

Hopefully you wake Goldrunner up JD - this thread hasn't been updated in 5 years :)

Atarimania would (probably) also like the disk images, so long as they're 'pure' and you've not written to the disks at all.

Best format (as they're not protected) would be .MSA format.
