http://www.uk.jagfest.org.uk/

Despite the title there will be lots of general Atari stuff going on, and not just Jaguar, so please come along and say hi.

It on 12/13th June 2004 so only a few weeks away !!

V0.2 of Gamebase ST will be shown at the show for the very first time. This release features some 200 games and many enhancements, such as greatly improved GEMUS emulator scripts that can, for example, run some games in hires mode that support it. A new version of Gamebase engine itself is in the pipeline, this will add extra features to the ST version. This includes auto recognition of all music formats supported by the Atari ST. Gamebase ST is entering a new phase and IÂ’m sure everyone will be impressed with what we have achieved so far.

Tk will be at the show with Gamebase author James Burrows, unfortunately I cannot make it but I am sure that Tk and James will put on a great show and answer any questions.

Ahhhh can't wait to see more... the other day I downloaded the c64 Gamebase (GB64), around 1,4GB, and it totally rocks... I wish GBST evolves into something like it!

Cheers

Won't be able to make it myself due to lack of funds due to purchase of STE and a 2nd hand PC to help read in disk images etc.

But you're based in Southport? As in up the road from where I am? If so, then if you need a brainstorming session, then let me know and pop down or I can pop up?

Looks like I will be going on Saturday to Jagfest now (tomorrow!), going Sunday only wouldn't have been a good idea since Saturday is the main day of action. I'm really looking forward to it, and I'll be taking a video camera which I'll edit and convert to divx after the show.

Unfortunatly going on the Saturday means that James Burrow (author of the Gamebase engine) won't be able to make it, but as a bonus the spare time he has on Sunday now he can put towards the development of Gamebase v1.1 which is what we need to be able to release v0.2 of GamebaseST. I'm really hoping we can get a tidy release of v0.2 soon after the show.

I'll be tweaking GamebaseST v0.2 at the show I expect, and will welcome any ideas or game requests from anyone else who cares to look over my shoulder there

The display by Rob at this year's Jagfest was certainly spectacular, well done to all of you behind the project :)

I personally hadn't shown a great deal of interest beforehand due to various outside influences, but that has now changed :) It's great to see a project like this become reality.

Cheers,

Felice.
Atari Falcon x 4 (including a broken one that I need to get fixed), Atari Mega STe (4mb, TOS 2.05), Atari STe (1mb), Atari Mega ST (2mb) with SC1435 color monitor, Atari 4160 STe (4mb, TOS 1.62), Atari STFM (2.5mb), Atari 800xl with Ultimate 1mb upgrade and SIO2SD (a fantastic upgrade, definitely worth it).
Other formats used sometimes as well for necessity's sake :) On PS4 and PS3, username: felicemaggie

Cheers Felice

James and I will be doing a broader showing of Gamebase and its various supported platforms at the Classic Gamers Expo in July http://www.cgexpo-uk.com/ so those that missed it at Jagfest can come along to Croydon instead.

I had a great time at Jagfest, good enough to have come away with a Jaguar all of my own with a collection of the best games. Someone seriously needs to extend the number of hours there are in a day so I can play all this stuff

It was great to see the 060 modded Falcon in action too, I wouldn't mind one of those if I could find somewhere to put another computer!

Check out a little video I did of Jagfest here (20MB file)

http://www.dentrassi.com/Jagfest.zip

I'm guessing my webspace will hit a bandwidth limit at some time so try another day if so.

Sorry the footage in the video is a bit crap, I didn't really think about what I was doing. Next time will be better :)
