I've downloaded the full file.

It's absolutely amazing !
Thanks a lot to share it.

I keep my computer online for those who are "torrenting" the file.

I have just got transmission 1.54 for 10.4.11 Tiger and need to know which link I need to use to get the d/l?

The link is rejected by transmission.

I do already have FOLX installed... any advice greatly appreciated !

Perhaps it's easier to get 4 DVD's posted to me......

thanks

I used the .zip file sent by SimonsunnyBoy on the 4th page of this thread with transmission, and I had no problem.

Maybe it wasn't seeding... I downloaded it.. but transmission didn't like to open it... will try again!

edit ... The torrent file cannot be opened because it contains invalid data.

I've set up a FTP server to host the 'Hang Loose' archive since 'climatics' is now offline and I guess people still want it?

It's just from my home cable connection but should be on 24/7 but for the odd time my connection needs reset...

Address:- dtsnorth.homedns.org
Port:- 21
Username:- atariftp
Password:- atariftp

Seems to be working fine, not sure of transfer rates but couple of hundred KB/s...

I'll keep it up until I get bored or my ISP give me a hard time

Cheers

Well I couldn't see anything obvious when I checked this morning before work. I did see a foreign external IP so I will assume this is yours lol.

What were you trying to do?

Maybe I can replicate the issue...

Issue is not at our ftp site. I'm downloading at the moment at 40-50KB/s, no problemo.

Ah superb, just pleased I can help out in some small way.

I would have liked to have seen a better transfer rate than 40-50KB/s...it should be more like 200KB/s.

I'll look into that :)

May be me, I am just browsing to see what stuff to get. But I am getting blank - non response from host once every three clicks.
I will try again later. Could be the internet itself.

The FTP is running from a Windows server in my home domain, I wanted to host this on my Synology NAS but the FTP is limited in that you can't lock down a user account to a very specific folder. You would have been able to list the entire contents of the file server.

Obviously with it being Linux based I could probably SSH into it and make configuration changes to do what I want that the GUI can't provide...but I'm a Linux noob 8)

So until Synology pull their finger out it'll have to be hosted on a Windows system for now

Went browsing it jsut now, and it is working smoothly now. No timeout or "empty reply from host" errors.
Guess may be Internet traffic at play, going half way round the world.

Hi ppl,

it still looks like there's a high demand of the Hang Loose archive:)

I put the whole content online to a google docs account. So if you have a google account send me a email to: b-a-n-d-i-t@c-l-i-m-a-t-i-c-s.c-o-m (remove all the -).

I will share the collection in edit mode, which means you can upload, rename, delete etc..

it would be very nice to get all unsorted files to the sorted folder.. let's see how this works.. Maybe you like it:)

cheers Bandit

Pulled my finger out and manually edited my 'passwd' file...

FTP server is now running directly from the NAS device instead of going a long winded route through to my Windows FTP server.

Speed should be a little better, if someone can test this please?

I'm pulling down the torrent and will continue to seed it for as long as its needed.

I have well over 500kb's up stream to help with seeding.

OK, last night I finished to download the complete archive: over 44.000 files in 14,5GB! That's quite a lot of data to sort and play through :D
