Thanks Brume.

Well, I'm not sure myself exactly which version I want, LOL ... Certainly not the budget one. I just wanted to check the protection in the original version. May be that actually would be the french version?

That's the CTR file of disk 1, you will find the protection on track 48. :)

If all the protection is in track 48 in disk 1, then it is very simple and could be copied with software copiers. It is the same in both english and french versions, and it's completely different to his protections on the other Ubisoft titles.

@dlfrsilver: something is a bit odd with the track 48 on your image. Could you post the raw file of that specific track.

Great. I was looking for 3 floppy English release. Because this:
http://atari.8bitchip.info/ASTGA/I/ironlord.php
Now I compared all files, and it appears that they are all OK in my from combined sources composed release. Only thing what can think is that there is some nasty copy protection what could prevent finishing it.
So, the question is: has anyone ever finished regular game ?
Negative feedback has usually positive effect.

I have never finished the game on 16 bits machines, only on Amstrad CPC.

Thanks Brume.

dlfrsilver's french dump has a couple of problems. It is almost identical to Brume's dump except just a handful of bytes. But it has one sector damaged.

In addition, something seems wrong with the drive used to produce the dump. It's not "aligned" correctly. If running the original disk from that drive it might not run. And some disks dumped with that drive might produce a bad image. In this case it's barely ok. Or the disk is not an original disk and was copied somehow producing this misalignment.

Ha! Just read your notes. I was thinking to myself "I know I had Iron Lord, but I don't think I ever played it, but clearly remembered the load screen...". After reading your notes, I know why! It never worked on TOS 2.06, so my Mega STe wouldn't play it.

By the time I got a normal ST, I had so many games I didn't ever get around to playing them all. it looks fun though.
Atari 8Bits: 800xl, 600xl, XEGS, 800, 130xe, 130xe (fully upgraded (soon!))
Atari STs: 1040STf (broken shifter), 1040STe, Mega STe, TT030, Falcon (CT60e, SuperVidel)
