Trapped II

Postby mwaawm » Fri Nov 18, 2016 11:28 pm

I used to have a registered copy of this excellent light cycle game on my st back in the day, even if I can find the disk now doubt it would run in a real st. Have looked online but can only seen to find disk images of the cut down (but sill excellent) unregistered version.

Anyone have an image of the full game?
I cant help it if I'm often in doubt but never in the wrong.

It will depend on what hardware you have. You could use JayMSA to create an image of the game disk:
http://phoenix.inf.upol.cz/~opichals/ja ... ymsa18.lzh

Alternately, if the disk is not protected you could try copying the files on a modern computer and zipping them to share here.

Oh I can Zip it up with no problem... I just need to know how to share it everyone else by uploading to a web site like Atarimania.

This is the version that was only available on the author's web site which is no longer around like everything else online 20 years ago. I remember it was mentioned in the news section of ST Format in the same issue that had the STfm version on coverdisk.

You can attach the zip as a file to a post on here if it is small enough. Has to be ZIP file.

When you click on the Post Reply button, you will have the option to click on an Attachments tab and attach the file.

Also, Atarimania has an FTP server:

Ok, here it is the STe version of Trapped II... Someone will have to copy it to a blank disk image but will also run right off a hard drive. Plus the Readme is missing but it's the same as the original version.

Thank you. :) I have copied the STE only version contents to an .ST image which can be used in emulators.

I have also uploaded the disk image version to Atarimania FTP for processing.

If you rename "_.spr" to "?.spr", trapped2 works with Hatari GEMDOS HD emulation, no need for floppy image.

(Works fine also with EmuTOS, although the "gate" closing & opening line-A blits are quite slow with EmuTOS compared to real STE TOS. Could be because EmuTOS doesn't use blitter for blitting.)
