Antic Software - Murray and Mom

Postby oesii » Fri Mar 05, 2004 8:30 pm

I'm not sure if these were desktop games or just humorous screens but I was browsing through the Antic Software catalogs available here:

http://www.asterius.com/atari/index

And saw an ad for these strange programs that simulate a Jewish mother, they are called Mom and Me and Murray and Me. Seemed a little offbeat, does anyone know where I could download these two programs or maybe a resource for Antic software for the ST?

haha, no joke. I wondering if they ever were released, that article says they are in Beta. But maybe they were released since they were in the 86 Catalog? I think the computer AI looks interesting :)

Yo!

I think I have Murray somewhere. It was only running in monochrome, and there was really nothing you could do with it except watch. Don't have that Mom thing though.

I believe Murray was on a PD disk... hope I still find it somewhere.

Thanks. When I read these I didn't think you could interact too much, but it sounds like it's suppossed to be 'Art' so I wanted to check it out :)

Murray and Me

Postby STcomp » Tue Dec 04, 2007 6:06 am

I have a shrinkwrapped Murray and Me by Antic, in the generic Antic style folder. I don't know what is in it because I have never opened it. So it was actually released and sold, if anyone is still interested in the information, that is. :)

Unwrap it? Right?

I've haven't run into these programs in the past few years so I would be happy if someone could create a disk image.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I wanted to re-ask the question. Does anyone out there have either of "Murray and Me" or "Mom and Me"?

I remember playing both these old programs in the early 90s, but I can't find a disk image anywhere.

I did find ads for them in ANTIC, though:

https://archive.org/stream/1986-01-anti ... 5/mode/2up

Strangely, the ad mentions them being monochrome, but I could swear the versions I used were color. They were on my 520ST and we only had an SC1224 monitor.

I found a later ad, and it appears I was right: there were color versions.

The German version of Murray appeared on some early public domain disks. It would be neat if the English version and "Mom and me" would get a release too.

Mom and Me - resurrected!

Postby Kirkman » Wed Jun 14, 2017 5:05 am

Hey guys, I believe I have rescued "Mom and Me". Read more (and download the program) here: http://breakintochat.com/blog/2017/06/1 ... -atari-st/

As a kid, I inherited very old (bootleg) disks of "Mom and Me" and "Murray and Me." Sometime in the 1990s these desks began giving me trouble, and I couldn't play them on my 1040 STe anymore. I hadn't tried to do anything with them since then.

Tonight I pulled them out, dusted them off, and gave them a try in my Mega STe.

I got "Mom" to work, but "Murray" is partially corrupted.
