Thriller, Shocker, Shocker II

Postby SEAGLD » Tue May 08, 2007 10:21 am

Hi,

does somebody has these games

Thriller
Shocker
Shocker II

and the books as well, and would be so nice to mail them to me. I would buy them again, but the programmer (Jürgen Verwohlt) is not reachable any more.

Hi,

thnx for the games, but I still need the books with the codes, because without them I can only play 10 level.

Does somebody has them as well? I would by them normally, but it's not possible any more.

I have the two books (Book 1 is for Thriller NT AND Shocker 1 and Book 2 for Shocker 2)
I just got a scanner yesterday so I'm checking right now how to scan them and get the best results.
Book 2 is grey in grey, you can see a first example here:

Book 1 is Black on red, that shouldn't be that hard I think, but didn't try yet.

If you have any tips on how to get the best results just write it down here. :)

Skyrider by Creation and Dizzy Wizard have the same kind of protection against photocopying (colour scanners were a bit off the radar back in those days) so I think I just scanned them in and changed the opacity slightly to make the text a bit more readable.
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

Doesn't seem like anyone is interested in this anymore?

Well, I scanned everything now, it's not perfect but it is readable. Converting to jpg right now.
Now I just need an nfo file (anyone can help me with that one? I never did one and don't know what to write) and something where I can upload it and see how many ppl have downloaded it. :)

I put mine up @ Replacementdocs.com - has lots of counters to see how popular it is etc.

Well, Book 1 (Thriller NT and Shocker 1) is 138,1mb and Book 2 (Shocker 2) is 24,4mb so it seems those are way to big for replacementsdocs. And besides that, I don't know if they allow code books to be uploaded, because it's like uploading the full game as you can get the game for free and need the book to play the levels 10 to 100.

I'm sorry for bumping this old thread, but I'd like to ask if there's still a chance to get hold of those files before they're lost. I'm really interested in the book scans of Thriller NT, Shocker and Shocker 2. I might even be able to host them, so others can download them, if there's no other way of distribution.

I'd also be able to contribute scans of the Spacola and OXYD code books if requested.

I wrote a PM to MetalSnake, maybe he still reads them here.

I thing is good idea send them in Atarimania (and they can ask for the author if email found somewhere) and put them in their site if it is ok.

Hello

I was looking for the codes of these games and found this thread. But it looks like the link is not working anymore.
Could somebody please upload them again. I would really like to play these games.

Thanks

Rapidshare deleted them :/

I uploaded them again, new links:
https://rapidshare.com/files/1902063990/Shocker_1.7z
https://rapidshare.com/files/1093708996/Shocker_2.7z

On a side note, I have some information about the game, levelcodes, screenshots and known hacks in a wiki here: http://diskutant.bplaced.net/wiki/Thriller_N.T.
German language only at the moment though. Shouldn't be too hard to understand with google translate ;)
Eventually I will do it in english also I think. Everyone can edit at the moment, I hope that works out well. :)

Have fun!

Hello Olaf,
those scans I did a few years ago are on many Atari sites by now.

Shocker/Thriller N.T.: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-st ... 11207.html

Shocked 2: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-st ... 29464.html

I hope that helps.
