Wanted: ST-RAM board for the Atari TT030

Postby dhedberg » Wed Sep 19, 2018 10:45 pm

Hi,

Just got my new TT setup properly but it has only the built-in 2MB ST-RAM and I'd like to have at least 4MB ST-RAM. Anyone interested in selling me a working 2MB or 8MB ST-RAM board for the TT?

Thanks,
Daniel

Why not just upgrade it? Lynxman sells kits.

What kind of kit is this? Where can I find more information?

no kits. It is a Upgrade PCB to mod a Atari 2MB DIL package Ram Board to 8MB with SMD chips.

Oh, sounds interesting, but I don't have a 2MB board to mod (yet). I only have the 2MB that is present on the motherboard. However those memory chips are in DIL sockets. 16*128k. Would it be possible to replace those with 16*256k or 16*512k chips to achieve 4MB or 8MB total ST-RAM?

Is Lynxman still selling these boards?

You can remove the onboard 2MB ST Ram and solder two 4MB PS/2 Simms in, so you have 8MB ST Ram.

Sounds like it would be quite a mess. Do you have pictures of that mod? Would like to keep this TT fairly clean as it's in mint condition.

I rather not touch the motherboard. I think I'll try and find a 2MB board and upgrade it to 8MB. Should be fairly straight-forward as long as I find the chips. Thanks for your help guys!
So, still looking for a 2MB board, or 8MB board for that matter!
