For Sale [SOLD]: A very special Falcon

Postby Dal » Sat Jul 01, 2017 8:19 pm

Due to a change in my circumstances, I am starting to sell off some of my stuff. Here we have a prized possession looking for a loving home within the community, my fully loaded Falcon:

- Base Falcon motherboard with Phantom bus accelerator
- CT63 with Rev6 68060 running stable at 95Mhz
- 512MB FastRAM
- 14MB ST RAM
- 8GB solid state Disc on Module
- SuperVidel with SvethLANa
- EtherNAT (Ethernet plus USB adaptor)
- Eiffel PS/2 keyboard and mouse adaptor with LCD display on the front panel.
- All housed in a green Soundpool rack case complete with MIDI ports on the back and cartridge port on the front.
- PicoPSU with suitable power brick
- Front accessible power switch, reset button and 060/030 toggle switch
- A beautiful Dell AT102W keyboard (my favourite mechanical keyboard)
- PS/2 mouse
- Videl-to-VGA adaptor
- Videl-to-SCART cable (not pictured, but will be included)

Tons of software on there with Mint 1-19 installed. All drivers present, correct and working including the USB mass storage driver (thanks to David Galvez). Everything works and passes diagnostics. It's a lovely stable machine.

Will be a shame to see this go, but I need to clear a lot of stuff and I can't see me being in any position to enjoy this machine again.

Looking for £2000 plus P&P for it. Please PM me directly if you have any questions.

I'm always sad to see Atari gear go from a die-hard Atari fan. :-( From the last time I remember Orion's amazing Falcon.

I know - this really is a wrench for me. But has to be done unfortunately.

Wow.. uhm, how much would shipping to the US cost, and will it take US voltages? Not that I should spend that much money on one.. but maybe... King of the Falcons just makes me think "Hail to the King, Baby."

Certainly it must be the Deadites making you sell it?

Hello Dal,

I'm not sure what the etiquette is on Atari-forum but if you consider splitting then I would be extremely interested in buying the supervidel.

If it's like Amibay and there's rules against asking for splits then please ignore me!

@Leech: For now, the machine is reserved. If that sale falls through, then I'm happy to pick up this conversation with you.

@Trixster: (as above). However, I will not be splitting this at all.

Hey, can I just say that if the ataribox.com tease ended up being a system like this, I'd be 100% IN!

Unfortunately, that's very unlikely. I think PC hardware and emulation was mentioned.

If someone ever does a decent (as in complete) Falcon 030 in an FPGA, I'd be so up for that.

I honestly don't even think Atari knows what they are making..

But yeah, a Falcon FPGA core would rock! I am hoping for a MiST 3.0

Of course they do.
I think the old architecture system will not be able to handle the needs of the newer generation.
