Are you selling recapped devices, or are you just re-selling as-is + cleaning?

For now I'll recap when necessary (one could argue it's always necessary) but I am currently looking into recapping every system. It just depends whether or not people appreciate the extra cost that comes with it.

Why don't you offer a recapping service with an extra charge on top of the computer price? Then the buyer can choose the computer as-is, or pay extra to have it recapped before being sent off. I used to say that only bulging or leaking capacitors need to be replaced, but after the results I've seen (especially when it comes to the ripple on PSUs) when replacing seemingly good capacitors I now always replace all electrolytic capacitors.

Yes, that seems like a very good idea. Thanks. Once I've got my lab up and running at full steam I'm gonna do it. I've also come to the same conclusion as you have regarding caps. 25 to 30+ years is way past the due date.

Ok, a lot has changed since April. Store has had a makeover. I have successfully recapped several PSUs. Some of them were not working until the recap (or resoldering) fixed them.
