Wanted: Plugin accelerator for STE

Postby EmpireAndrew » Fri Jul 15, 2016 5:51 pm

Looking to buy a plug-in (no soldering) accelerator card for my 1040STE.

ADSpeed STE springs to mind but there may be others I've long forgotten about...

Congratulations. I'm sure that wasn't easy to find!

I've got an Adspeed (ST version) in my Mega ST4 that runs my BBS and I've
rarely seen any come up for sale, especially in the last few years...

Hope it came with the disks/software and manual.

Lots of neat stuff/helpful info there.

Hmm, I think it might be dead.

Finally got around to fitting it today and although the power light comes on, there is no monitor output or floppy activity.
Putting the original CPU back in the machine works as normal so I didn't damage the socket or anything (even used a n extractor tool like a good boy).

Disappointing, but not the end of the world...

That's too bad. Those are really cool little accelerators.

There were a couple of things when using an Adspeed with a Mega ST that had
to be addressed (like that original clock patch that came from Atari). Any chance
it's something like that with the STe version? I'd go through that manual with a
fine tooth comb.

Sadly I don't have the manual and can't seem to find the STE version online... :(

Hmm, I don't think the original manual covers the STe version, unless the
later versions had a revision or maybe a "drop in" set of instructions. Surely
someone here has the STe manual?
