I may well do. I'm just trying out some older firmware this week on my one. If my suspicion is correct and the 2.09 firmware is no good for me, then I'll definitely be interested in swapping with you.

Both chips need to be swapped - the EPROM is only half the story with regards to firmware on these things.

OK deal! I will send you both chips. Please PM me your address ! Did your CBX work at all with Driver8’s EPROM (only one chip changed) ? I am also interested to burn CBX-D5 EPROMS myself to play around it. Can you tell me what is the minimum (cheapest) equipment for it ? Did you need a new blank EPROM therefore or can you override existing CBX-D5 EPROMS ?

My two cbx-d5 has 2.8a and 2.8c firmware version, they work with cubase cbx 1.01 but fail to record with cubase cbx 1.02.

Yes it's confirmed now. I have Driver8's CBX and TT here now - my CBX with 2.09 refuses to be recognised by Cubase whereas the 1.20c CBX is absolutely fine.

@INSPECTOR: have you got your CBX's daisy chained? Do you need to use the SMP-24 for the extra MIDI or can you use THRU from one CBX into the next?

I used the midi TRHU of one CBX to the second.

Nope. SHDI refuses to acknowledge the CBX or the SCSI drive when connected to Wolfgang's ACSI-SCSI adaptor. HDDriver sees it ok as does HDX.PRG.

I did ask Wolfgang to see if he can make his adaptor masquerade as a Steinberg one. He did say he'd look at it but I've not heard anything. I'll send him an email now.

Unfortunately I don't have a Steinberg adaptor to test with.
