Found a weird board in my Atari - HELP please!

Postby KMason666 » Sat Apr 07, 2018 10:01 am

Just bought a new second hand atari st 520fm, opened it up to install a gotek thingy and found a weird board mounted next to the floppy drive. It was disconnected but appears to have a floppy drive connector to a 14 pin connector and a pass thru power connector. Has anyone got any idea what this is? We have tried google search but no luck so far.

Here is a picture of the board https://drive.google.com/file/d/1y3c7OREyLetZvbACMo2LSVW_8budtCSK/view?usp=sharing

I believe this is an adapter used for the early singlesided floppy drives. Your ST has probably been upgraded with a doublesided drive since the adapter is disconnected.

That's a lot of logic for a simple SS/DS adapter though?

Yes it is, but I have seen such boards in some SF354's too.
