Welcome back .. the place is still a collection of random conversations as it was when you left.
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice to see you, to see you nice. You have been missed!

Did you do Direct Access for the bike? Or did you know how to ride already? I had my first lesson a few weeks back. Not sure though if I am diligent enough to own bike. But I have so gone off driving. I don't think I could do Direct Access. The YBR125 felt like a ship (I should know I have conned a ship!) and the 600s at the bike centre suddenly looked like jet fighters. But there isn't much choice if you are restricted to 33bhp.

At the moment I think the only Atari cable I need is a 5ft or so keyboard cable for my Mega ST. I am on the verge of actually doing what I set out to do when I joined the site and use an ST as a terminal for Linux................

Great to hear from you again  I totally understand your feelings, got in similar situation a couple of years ago and I really reached rock bottom. Anyway, bought some things to keep my ego up and then I became a hermit 8)

This forums has been a very good help for me, always cheers you up and keeps your mind busy.

We will send you hugs

Not sure if cheers are appropriate, I could be showing my emotional illiteracy and if so, sorry for that, but there just isn't really a suitable emoticon for "Alison, we're there for you after a complex relationship clusterf*ck that taxed your very essence of being..."

I might have a suggestion for 'Atari bits', but that can keep for now.

Yayyyyyyyyy :-)

Right, little steps first. PeSTs. Got a few. Even organising myself to pack them off and send them is almost a gigantic mountain, so I'll start doing things one at a time.

Welcome back Alison! All the best for the future, my friend always used to say that when one doors is shut front of your nose, there's always at least three more which will open. Been there five years, got a big slam myself and now I'm the happiest guy ever. Everything happens for a reason I guess.

Nice to have you around again :) :) :)

A thought about your story with this french expression :
"Il vaut mieux être seul que mal accompagné" with my translation "Better to be alone than in bad company"...

Hi Alison,

Great to have you back again here, it wasn't the same anymore without you.
Seems that 2010 is a year with loads of ups and downs, not just for you I might add.
Lessons of life can be hard, but as they say: what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Enjoy Atari and your bike (knees in the brees), go out and let the wind blow through
your head and free it of all the nasty thoughts (thats what I always do and its a big relief)
Eyes on the road, look at the horizon, set new goals and then go for them.
No time to pity mistakes, they only cost valuable time...

I would say welcome back, but I'm not here often myself these days!
I can say it's good that you're ok after your bad experience.... we've all been there, only thing you can do is learn from it and move on

Welcome back and *big hugs* for the personal troubles - it can be really tough when things don't work out as wished.

If you need some work, i still would lie to have that JeST cable *hint hint*

I only pop in here occasionally myself these days (only just seen this thread), but just wanted to say commisserations for the situation and (although it's trite and you don't want to hear it right now) sounds like it was bound to happen in the end given this person's personality and you can put it behind you and move on. The only way is forward. Stiff upper lip and all that, etc. ;)
