Oids (9 disks of new levels)

Just been sent 9 copies of Oids with 13 new galaxies (all different on each disk) on each one. Since Oids is one of the most popular games on the ST I thought it would be a good idea to let everyone know in case they want a copy?

I had no idea you could add galaxies to Oids so I am well happy that someone has taken the time scouring the internet to do this, many thanks to Pugsy for making them available. They will be added to GamebaseST, I just need to think of how to name them.

Below is from the email he sent me:

This 9 disk .st image collection is made up from all the Oids Galaxies I could find on the internet, most where found in MAC .sit archives. As Oids supports a maximum of 13 galaxies per disk I've split the galaxies to 9 disk images. I've not tested most of the galaxies but I believe most if not ALL should work as the majority where originally made on the Atari ST.

The majority of the extra galaxies were found in two sit archives, there is some duplication between the two though. You just have to go from the filenames...you can't use the crc32s to differentiate because the high scores are save directly to the galaxy files.

Welcome aboard Pugsy me old mucker!

For those who don't know Pugsy, he's one of the owners/coders etc. behind the cheats.dat file in MAME.

He also wrote an action replay type program for the ST called Cheat Machine.

And, AFAIK, did an awful lot of trainers that were published in ST Format

Appologies for resurrecting such an old thread. The Oids_List attached to the first post mentions the following levels being on Disk 1 of the 8 disk set.
MOOSEOIDS, HOPPOIDS, Arkanoid, Bewilderness, Championoid, Eviloid, Devoid.
I can't find these on any of the disks. I've downloaded from various sources.
If someone has them and can upload then that would be great

Oids is a beauty, one of those unique gems on the Atari ST (1987) until the Mac version was released years later (1990). We still have Sundog, so take that! Oddly both by FTL.

I'll have to play this again soon, and new levels! I honestly never completed it back then, game gets extremely difficult, but SO much fun. I had wished someone would port this to the Jaguar.

does anyone know if this can run on newer macs?

I had it on my ancient powerbook and had a few flashbacks the other week and have tried to get it going, however after tracking it down it appears the only one I've found is for power pc's
