Without sounding like a miserable git, nice looking pictures but I'll reserve judgement until we see a playeable game... I cant really see what everyone is excited about to be honest.

Yes you are a miserable git :)

Seriously though, thats fair comment. I hope to have another demo out before Christmas. It won't be playable just yet but should give a better idea of whats to come. Thanks for all the positive feedback on the graphics though :)

The right words to describe my feelings on this one too!

I'd agree in substance with Simon and Xerud, but at the same time, excitement levels are bubbling under nicely :-)

Och yer being too soft on him, get yer finger out yer bum ya Menace!!!!! ;-)

Seriously though I think everyone is keen to see the end result so you may benifit from enlisting some help from a team of talented fellow forum members, that way you could concentrate on the graphics side or whicever.

Good question. The simple answer is LOTS. If you let me know what you are good at then I may be able to think of something more specific.

The main hold-up at present is me trying to get my scrolling routine right. Once that sorted then I can start adding sprite routines and collision detection routines.

For anyone without any specific technical skills (i.e. coding or graphics) I could do with someone to make up more level maps using the Eclipse map editor. I have already got a proper tile set for Turrican II World 1 and have so far only made the map for the first level which leaves one more for that world. I am part way through the tile sets for T2-World 2 (2 maps) and T1-World 1 (3 maps) so those maps can be done soon as well.

Do the maps have to be based on levels in Turrican 2 because I've not seen all of them (only got to 1.2).. If not, I can create some nice levels..

Sorry for the delay but my internet has been cut off so I am now replying from work.

zeropolis79 wrote:Do the maps have to be based on levels in Turrican 2 because I've not seen all of them (only got to 1.2)

I intend to replicate the existing levels for Turrican 1 and 2. I have full detail map images of all the levels of Turrican 2 and the first world of Turrican 1 so if you want to do one I can send you the relevant piccy.

zeropolis79 wrote:If not, I can create some nice levels..

I will be doing all new levels for chapter 3 but these will have to wait till I have some new level graphics for them. Feel free to have a go at designing a tileset or a general theme for a world :)

I don't have anything like the spare time I used to have but I am waiting for Daeghnao to finish a couple of small projects of hers before she starts helping me put together some of the main game logic. The scenery rendering code is as good as done but theres still a hell of a lot more to do.

Also, I'm due down south for my brother's 21st in a couple of months, and my brother happens to live like half a town over from unseen, so chances are that we'll end up doing some coding sessions that weekend too, try and finish off whichever bit we've got to. Things are going to be a bit hit and miss for me over the next few months though, boring diet stuff that sometimes makes me a bit vacant, so no guarantees as yet.

Turrican Resurrection is looking absolutely incredible Unseen!

When you finish this awesome game we all should have big party to celebrate. Not just to celebrate its release but also as recognition for all your hard work

Cheers mate :D , I have edited the posts in the previous few pages that had missing images due to my webspace being no more. I have uploaded the pics as attachments in case you missed anything.

I have little time as we have just bought our first house and we are going to be doing some renovation work on it. That said I am working on the sound routines at present so its definitely not dead. Anyone who thinks they could contribute in some way do give me a shout :)

I know all about renovating... Spent 3 years doing my house whilst living in it. For the first two years we were living out of two rooms upstairs - the ground floor was a building site with no electricity.

We had no boiler for our first winter - we had to boil kettles to have a bath.

We also had no kitchen for the first year and a half - we had to cook everything on camping gas and with a microwave/grill combo.

It was not much fun!

Best of luck with yours!

I'd love to help out, but alas I cannot code and my pixelling seriously sucks.
