Funny to see that my prediction on a realistic timeframe for the release of this project (which were once upon a time considered controversial enough to be deleted \o/) have come true now... So what's next? Hold hands, sing kumbaya, and pray for something resembling a release before the second lustrum of this project?

Life as some of you may know can be unpredictable and as is often the case with hobby projects real-life has gotten in the way a bit. The main coding is on hold partly because Daeghnao has been incredibly busy but also because my life is currently a complete mess. Now whilst its lovely to see that my misfortune is amusing I should point out that I am still working on the sound driver at the moment and I'm making progress as and when work, family and personal problems allow. Additionally Daeghnao is expecting to have some free time soon and we hope to crack the problems we were having with the scenery code in due course. Once that's been resolved some proper progress shouldn't be too far behind.

Just for the record, nobody ever mentioned your private circumstances except yourself.

Hopefully some of that complete mess is still enjoyable! :D

Isn't it funny how people can get pissy about a project in which they have themselves invested no time or money.

Here's a suggestion: we all hold hands and sing kumbaya and pray for something resembling a cave dweller to do one and not comment in this thread until they have something more constructive to say.

Desty, I hope things get sorted for you sooner rather than later, and the majority of us still interested in Atari computing are patient (after all, our hardware isn't getting any more obsolete ;) ) and ecstatic that talented people like you take time out of their lives in order to bring new things to the scene. Keep up the good work.

That's good you have made progress on that side of things.

Stuff which pays the bills has to take precedence over hobby stuff, can't be helped!

Looking forward to the next demo!

Thanks guys :)

nativ wrote:HEXtet! :D

Its actually part of a side project called Octet! At the moment I've got working 4 channel DMA stereo sound with the full 8-bits of sample resolution (some sound routines lose the least significant bit before adding (mixing) samples together. Next I have to add YM sample and chipsound support :)

What's not nice about that comment? I was just trying to point out that this insinuation...
Now whilst its lovely to see that my misfortune is amusing

...is a distortion of reality. I certainly was not trying to make fun of the OP's private circumstances in any way- why would I? It makes no sense, I never even met the guy nor do I know/care what is going on in his life.

What "hurts" is that some people constantly feel the need to point out the negative in everything!

Now come on Havoc is only exercising his democratic right to voice his opinion on a public forum... 8)
I think the holding hands and singing come by yar thing is desperately needed here!!

Okay then how about this; if I remove the negative leads from my car battery before I go away, it will not be flat when I return! So that is turning a negative thing into a positive one!

My centre console clock became knackered earlier this year anyway, i.e. still works but very faint LED. Anyway having your clock time reset everytime you power off and on, should make you feel more at home eh! 8)

Daeghnao is now working on proving the scenery scrolling logic with some cunning scripty jiggery pokery so we should soon know if we were chasing an impossible goal with the way I tried to do it or not. Either way it's progress :)
