How do I view palettes from Atari ST games?

Postby PTux7 » Sat May 11, 2019 11:02 pm

Is there a way to rip the palettes from an Atari ST game ROM that it uses, or to display the palettes in an emulator? Ripping them from screenshots isn't very reliable due to some games using multiple palettes, changing the current 16-color palette at different times.

you can easily grab the palette with the debugger - Steeem SSE Debug:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/steems ... SSE%203.9/
Lynx II / Jaugar / TT030 / Mega STe / 800 XL / 1040 STe / Falcon030 / 65 XE / 520 STm / SM124 / SC1435
SDrive / PAK68/3 / Lynx Multi Card / LDW Super 2000 / XCA12 / SkunkBoard / CosmosEx / SatanDisk / UltraSatan / USB Floppy Drive Emulator / Eiffel / SIO2PC / Crazy Dots / PAM Net
Hatari / Steem SSE / Aranym / Saint

here you can see the "New Shifter Browser" window:
SteemSSEBoiler.jpg

you can copy&paste every hex value, or just dump a whole palette to a binary file

When the palette is changed many times in one VBL, just stop the emulator in a particular scanline and grab a current palette
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
