Operation Harrier

Postby mlynn1974 » Mon Jan 22, 2018 1:15 am

I bought a few games on eBay the other week and among them is a boxed version of Operation Harrier.
http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-st ... 10135.html
It's featured on Automation 447 but it's nice to have the original.

It has a weird printed wheel code system which has very dark ink on black cardboard, making it very hard to photocopy.
Did any other games use this?
It's not on Atari Mania but I don't have a Kyroflux to make a perfect copy.
Still got, still working: Atari 4Mb STe, 520STFM, 2.5Mb STF.
Hardware: Cumana CSA 354, Ultimate Ripper, Blitz Turbo, Synchro Express II (US and UK Versions).

Many games used a code-wheel - Another world, Zool, Monkey Island and Elvira are ones that come to mind.

There were several variations of dark text on darker backgrounds - one game that escapes me for now had dark blue text on a brownish-purple card.

Some other games with a code-wheel can be found at http://www.atarimania.com/list_games_atari-st-codewheel-id-chart_protection_2_S_G.html

As an aside, an interactive version of the Another World wheel can be found at http://www.oldgames.sk/docs/codewheel/another-world/
