I have seen video footage where Nolan Bushnell states they were crushed and then covered in tonnes of concrete before being covered in the landfill so I don't have much expectations.

The interest level it raises of the original brand (ie the hardware making company not the rebadged French software house project) can only be good and maybe someone with some great ideas (like finding homebrew projects for FPGA Atari 8/16/32bit stuff and using them in more powerful than VCS Atari in a Joystick C64DTV type products) would arrange purchase of the brand currently liquidated(?).

Could end up like Geraldo Rivera finding Al Capone's vault.

I just find it funny that he'd be used as a reference for anything to do with the dumping, he wasn't at Atari anymore. He left in December '78 (technically January '79 is when he sent his formal resignation letter).
