Atari ST Exclusives

Postby Strideristhebest » Sun Jul 26, 2009 12:29 pm

Hi everyone. I'm Darran Jones, the editor of Retro Gamer magazine and I'm in need of your help. I'm well aware that the ST doesn't receive anywhere near as much coverage as it should and I now aim to rectify this. If you could point me out to Atari ST exclusives that didn't appear on the Amiga I'd really appreciate it. If there's enough good ones we can even run it as a feature :)

Talking about games, Oids comes to mind. I don't remember seeing an Amiga version of this.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

I'm a big fan of Retro Gamer magazine. The articles are really superb and the information has helped many records like Elite or Rick Dangerous to be even better at the Guardians of the PaST :)

I just wish the subscription price could be a bit cheaper to Scandinavia but otherwise keep up the good work!

Glad you like the magazine :)
Unfortunately my hands are tied when it comes to subs, it's under a completely different department.

Yeah, I know. I'm working part time on a newspaper myself. There are many departments which all are doing their own things.

It's interesting that some of the games like Warhawk, Starquake, Metrocross or Super Cycle has their roots on Commodore64 but they skipped the Amiga-conversion and went to Atari ST instead.

It's also worth pointing out that some of the games were published for Amiga but they are under different title like ST Karate = Amiga Karate, ST Soccer = A Soccer (or Amiga Soccer).

Also a complete Amiga-versions of No Buddies Land and Son Shu Shi were later found even if they never were commercially published. So it might be worth to do some double checking with this list ;)

The real cool games weren't released on the Amiga, of course.

(not in your list?)

Altair
Ice & Fire (adventure)
Joust
Massacre dans la 520e dimension (FR)
ST Wars
TNT
In the CIA we learned that ST ruled

Sundog never appeared on the Amiga. I loved that game.
