Good Party Games

Postby belboz » Mon Dec 01, 2003 7:51 am

Everyone,

Any recommendations for good games for groups of people to play (either multiple people together ala Gauntlet, or possibly a party game where many players take turns)?

Right now off the top of my head I can only think of these. Its been a long time since I have played with the old ST. I just recently got it out and some friends enjoyed these below games, and asked if there were others.

Gauntlet Series
Super Sprint
Joust

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Lethal Xcess as the best ST shooter comes to mind. It offers 2 player play for highscores *eg*

Bubble Bobble is a good try as well!

North and South (a MUST :))
Kick Off 2
Sensible Soccer (it rules too ;))
Barbarian (fun for a few minutes :))
Speedball 1/2 (excellent :))
Stunt Car Racer (if you can link 2 STs)
Parasol Stars
Mega Twins
Crapman (Hours of cool gameplay :))

There must be more, but that's all I can remember right now
is 73 Falcon patched atari games enough ? ^^

Cool party games that can't be played simultaneously (but in turns):
  • Bobo
  • World Games (a really, really great game!)
  • All those summer and winter olympic games
  • Circus Attractions

Some nice two player simultaneously games:
  • Lotus Turbo Esprit Challange 1 -3
  • Lemmings
  • Double Dragon

Definately Speedball for simultaneous 2 player action
Same for any version of Kick off if you're into proper football
Summer Olympiad (up to four I think)
TV Sports Football (if you're into American Football)

Thanks everyone for all the feedback. I will check your suggestions out.

Can't believe I forgot about Bubble Bobble!

Speaking of Bubble Bobble. Is Rainbow island a prequel or sequel to Bubble Bobble?

blatant plug here, but i'd have to say that 'chu chu rocket' has a pretty cool 4 player mode that works well as a manic party game :)

indeed, the RG games are great party games ... God pey is another good example...

Also don't forget the game "Disc" . This isn't well known, but it is a fantastic two player game based on the movie Tron. You can check out a review at the ST Graveyard...

I'd add Substation as MIDI-Maze type game (well, rather Wolf3D like ).
And .tSCc.'s bomberman : Dynabuster, up to... mhh, many many players! :D

How can anyone not mention trapped 2? Its like 4 player snake but with the intent to kill each other...its the only game i've played with 3 mates for more than 10 hours....and that was last year just after i got a gamecube!!!

what a boring party :)

Postby moondog/.tSCc. » Thu Feb 19, 2004 5:08 pm

you want to play party games?! man...

take "sexgames" ... he, and be sure to have enough joysticks at home, i know it isn´t a game for 2 or more players at once, but a game that is always good fun on a party... so why do you need enough joysticks? in the heat of the battle they may break :)

another good one is "piskwork" by o.u.c.h. also great fun :)

greetings, eric
