What´s happening with www.atarimusic.net?

Postby dbsys » Thu Dec 18, 2014 3:06 pm

I was just wondering what´s happening with www.atarimusic.net, is this website still maintained?

I am asking since none of the downloads I recently tried still works. Apparently, all software downloads seem to be gone.

Months ago I sent a PM to one of its (former?) contributors to make him aware, but never got any reply.

Anyone here who can comment or knows more?

Thanks.

I was also wondering about this. Hopefully this thread catches the right person's attention.

The man you need is Mal:

memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=1862

Try pinging him a pm on here. Hope he's ok.

Yes, that´s the contact I tried back in July, offering the C-Lab X-alyzer software for AMN, but I never heard back.

Looking into the profile above, the last visit here was on Dec. 4.

What´s happening with www.atarimusic.net?

Hi, sorry for the absence and lack of communication. Regarding the downloads, the host Sudan update earlier in the year which broke pretty much everything and I've been in an argument with them about who's responsibility it is since I was aware of the downloads breaking. As its a joomla error they say it's up to me to fix but as I can't find anything wrong and it started after they broke the SQL links, I say it's up to them.

Upshot is it may well need rebuilding from scratch...

As for my absence, health issues, family, retraining for s new career and lots of other things have got in the way. Upshot is I'm going to have more time, but little energy to devote to things outside family and work. However I will be doing something with the site over Christmas to try and fix the downloads once and for all

Good to know that the download issues are known to the makers of AMN.

I am hoping these issues can sorted sooner or later. AMN is an important source for everything MIDI and music production on the Atari.

This site http://www.ataricq.org/ experienced similar problems after the ISP moved everything to a new server with a newer version of php. He was forced to update joomla to a more recent version to cure it. It's an idea, if one is not using the latest joomla. ;)

Yeah but it'll be to joomla 3.3 which needs a new player which requires buying a complete new version. Would not be so bad but downgrading php made no difference so the database may well be screwed as everything else works

Right, found the issue... But not what's causing it though I have got the Cubase page working again under downloads...

Now I have the workaround, I'll get the rest of the downloads up and running over the weekend.

Update:

Atarimusic.net is offline. I was made aware of an issue, went to the site and found it online and working. Logged on to reply to a thread, everything normal until I hit submit, then the site vanished.

Unable to get into support section so suspect it's a server issue at the site hosts data centre.

Hope to be back up and running soon

Well it turned out to be a dispute over the domain name. Provided all the information they needed (Several times with my host also stuck in the middle of it all), finally got it all back online yesterday and...

It's gone again today.

Here I go again...

May just register a new domain as the site is moving hosts anyhow

Grrr...

Registrar unsuspended the domain (Yay!), then suspended it again because the details had changed (The details they were requiring me to supply in the first place!).

Details sent (Again!), so hopefully this will fix it all once and for all

Fingers crossed - was worried it was lost forever.

Have to say it was getting annoying, sending the same information time and time again, even my host was getting frustrated with the registrar (We had a little 'off the support page' conversation about it).

Still, should all be there for the foreseeable future now. Thank you for the support :)

All I need now is time and some space in the new house to set something up again...
