Indeed, it´s back. I am glad. It´s one of my favourite Atari websites.

Thanks for hosting it!

Actually my main reason for logging in is to say the site is back up and running, but due to pressures my end of various types, I cannot keep it going long term and cannot give the site teh time and attention it needs. I initially took it on after the original owner took it offline and vanished and bought him out after tracking him down with the help of others on ebay. Initially quite a lot of content went up but it was quite an unweildly site to manage and it became quite time consuming.

Theres still a lot of stuff there that is useful and I don't want it to go, so is anyone willing to take the site over? It's paid up until next year, site space ad bandwidth is all included and there is still a healthy visitor count. So anyone want to take it over and give it the care and attention I can no longer do?

I would be very sad to see this nice website go....

If I had the time and skills to maintain a complete website, I´d go for it.

So I hope someone else is willing and able to jump in.

@exxos, wouldn´t that be something for you?

Already offered ;) I was told the hosting is good for a few months, I think he is just busy at the moment, so not actually "got" the site yet. But hopefully it will get sorted in the near future :)

Here, here indeed. Well, I was wondering maybe we could do something with XXL and Mono (i-demo.pl), but I'm afraid at the moment I have too much on my plate. :-\ It's crap, I know.

Well after Friday's mess and all the other crud going on I've had to divide time and money I don't have between a number of things that are finally pushing me to dispose of the lot. The studio had to go a while ago, as did the Mega ST's, now it's a process of disposing of what is left, in part because we won't have room to store it and in part because I need to get together any possible bit of money locked up in what is left.

Things here literally went from bad to worse. I was hoping the changes I made to our lives last year would help (Walking out on the job I hated, building up a new career in training and finally doing a job I enjoy), sadly things have not gone so well so it is now a case of deciding what is important and what needs to go. As we have no room to store, never mind set up the Atari kit, what remains must now be disposed of and as I cannot give any time to the site, it may as well also go to someone who can keep it online.

It's a shame, the cost of buying out the copyright from the original owner was a lot of money, but given the same circumstances I'd do the same thing, I would not change that at all, I just wish I could have kept up to it all and still keep up to it all, but I can't, not physically or psychologically. Right now I need to shut off from it all, find a nice warm cosy cave and hide away for a good long while, but that isn't going to happen.

Ah well, just keep plodding on :)

Exxon, I'll pass on the details you need for access, I'll also let David Etheridge know that the site will be changing hands. There is also a FaceBook and twitter feed, if your on Facebook, join up (IF you haven't already) and I'll give you access.

Count me in, be a shame to not keep access to this invaluable Atari resource. Thanks for taking it over and the efforts you have put in!

I had half forgotten about it. I will send Mal a email see what hes up to. I think hes really busy at the moment. I don't think the subscription for his site runs out for a few months yet anyway.

Big thanks to Mal, and to you too, you are taking on a lot at the moment. It is hugely appreciated with your projects and taking on hosting of sites etc...

The last thing that will go in my house are the Ataris! I'd start selling organs first

I'm in a similar position. I walked out of a job of twenty years because it was making me ill with the stress of dealing with the boss. Fortunately things are OK here for the time being, I'll know within a couple of months 8O

Let me know if I can help, I've used Joomla and I'm fairly handy with MySQL/LAMP/nginx.
Atarian since 1989. Atari 1040STFM, 4MB 520STe with UltraSatan and Unitor N, A dodgy 1 MBSTe that bombs out after a few minutes, and a 14MB 48MHz Falcon 030 with NetUSBee and Soundpool 8 channel DAC. Plus my new MiST!

Small update, Mal sent me the info to access the site. So initally I am going to see if I can clone the site over to my own server.

I don't have any "big plans" to make changes to the site, I want to keep it pretty much how it is rather than start messing with the layout etc which everyone is used to. But of course open to suggestions..

My plan now is to keep the TT030 and hopefully the Falcon, but that depends. I still want to keep a hand in with the Atari side, but it will take time and also I have a whole pile of other things to deal with and get going.

Currently down, but not totally out
