Atari user in the sky with his Falcon. RIP.

Postby Atarieterno » Mon Sep 04, 2017 12:20 pm

I regret to report a sad news: Juan Carlos Antunez, our friend and great Atari user Spaniard, has died today in the battle against the cancer.
An excellent person, always ready to help other companions. He was one of the editors of the Spanish magazine " Atari fan", a resource of the Atari fan Club that it supported, informed and joined to the Spanish Atari users' community from the year 1993 up to 1997.
We will remember him as a great enthusiast of our machines, with his glasses always placed on his forehead.
May God have him in his glory.

Lo siento mucho, sobre todo para sus familiares! Guardo muy buenos recuerdos de los encuentros Atarifan con toda la peña Atari en su despacho de Mesacrom.

RIP to Juan Carlos Antunez.

It is sad that I am aware of his work only after his death. "Atari fun" looks like really serious magazine!

Was Juan member of this forum?

---

I wonder lately what would happen with my Ataries if I suddenly die. My family maybe would kept them in closet but I would rather like to sell them here on forum, to someone that would have fun and joy with them... There should be some site that will keep you testament (and wishes) until you die. After your death, site should send emails to the persons that you mark with testaments and wishes.

Calimero; from the date I joined this forum, I think Juan Carlos was not a participant. I knew him from the old days, when we communicated with BBS and telephone by cable and there was no "flat rate", when my mother complained about the telephone bill. These were times when we still sent diskettes with DP or freware (and other things) by ordinary mail, in letters and packages. Juan Carlos had international acquaintances and got the news of the Atari scene, and always helped as much as possible to the other users.
Today a memory has arisen spontaneously to our lost companion, several people have written in this old post. I feel joy and sadness at the same time, but I appreciate the words of all the participants.

Regarding our beloved machines, it is sad to think what will happen to them when we die: it may be necessary to leave a will with the last will.

Best regards, mate.

I suggest everyone look at the dates on the first posts in this thread.

Just the same, condolences to his friends and family, and the community. Always sad to lose one.
