Atarimania News

Postby Marakatti » Wed Mar 17, 2010 9:30 pm

We are now hosting a complete set of STart-magazines including four Special Issues. We know they've been sort of available for years on atarimagazines.com, but they have the text only version and are missing all the ads and other nice stuff.

Welcome to read and download the good old Atari-magazine from USA :)

I shared well over 20GB back after downloading it, but my second server has been switched off the last couple of weeks due to soaring temperatures in the room (nearly 40°C at times!).

That's because the room in question is a wooden dorma. When the outside temperature is say 28°C, the indoor temp will be around 40°C and sometimes higher! It gets the sun most of the day and the room only cools to a more normal temp around 5am, but not always. As I type this the indoor room thermometer is reading 35.2°C :x

When will the torrent be reseeded? I've switched off my torrent program last week - I guess I got to it a bit late as never got any bytes at all :)
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

Seeing as the weather is a bit cooler at the moment, I have switched my second server (Emprex NSD-100) back on to help seed this torrent again. I normally run this server 24/7, although at reduced speeds during 3pm and 8pm UK time due to Virgin Media's traffic shaping/bandwidth control policy.

My little black Emprex NSD-100 server I only use for torrent files, whereas my white Synology DS-101j I use for FTP and other stuff. It really is as simple as black and white!

Nice one Shredder. As soon as I've got the whole thing, I'll dump it onto the newsgroups so it'll be 'safe' for 2 years+ :)

Uploaded overnight so here's the NZB for those newsgroup users for the STart PDF files.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

edit: having trouble with this..I use Grabit to down from the newsgroups and it's showing your upload as "article not found" so I did a search on grabit and found antoher one..which was 2gig big..downloaded it and it won't extract the archive, the archive is a RAR file, any ideas?

That's odd. I unpacked it before I uploaded the same .RAR file that was being seeded. No errors when unpacking it at this end.

For anyone who's interested, I'm just uploading 5gbs worth of Atari 8-bit books in PDF format that I found on another torrent :) They're now preserved for 600+ days when the job is finished :)

I'll retry your Nzb, maybe it wasn't finalised on the server, you didn't creat any par fixes for it, when you uploaded it? Did ya?

Will try it again, them 8bit books sound nice, it looks like my Ipad will be busy :)

cheers pal

Nope .. still exploring JBinUp. I'm sure there's an NZB option inside it but not yet found it (or really tried hard to look for it!) :)

The 8-bit books are all online too.

Thanks a lot. 2 thumbs up! (lacks a smiley here) What a great collection!
I find it very informative and interesting, surprised by the quality of this mag. For the programmer, obviously.
The scans are just perfect.
Seeding the torrent when I can (not 24/7).

Yesterday we made our 1500th Pasti-dump available. For the last few hundred titles it's mainly stuff from our own originals. So there should be a plenty of Pasti-versions which were previously unavailable.

Every file has been tested with STeem, but if you find games that has loading errors in later stage let us know.
We'll image them again or try to find new originals.

Thanks for the great support everyone :)

Don't have these games myself. I've asked Franck to image these as you requested some time ago. I'll ask again if he could make them. Sorry for the delay
