I see, well if we can use any universal adapter around there's no problem about it, what voltage does your device need? 3v 5v?

It should be at least 7V, because there is some voltage drop down in the device (due to rectifier). But it shouldn't be much higher than 7V, because higher voltage will result in higher heating of the device. So from 7V to 9V should be OK.

I use this connector in the device:
http://www.soselectronic.com/?str=371&artnum=S071082

It's a 2.1 mm connector, so it's one of the two most right connectors.

- pole is external
+ is internal?
If you guys expirience hardware problems.
1. Always remove chips if possible before soldering.
2. Resolder your hardware, check cables too.
3. If problem continue THEN must be faulty software.

I got 2 Atari ST
Main is stfm, with blitter, with 4 meg of ram, with 16mhz cpu + s-video and audio input to videobox, vdi out
P.S.

Thanks, I think I have a couple of adaptors for this type. Although they might all be 12V...

It doesn't matter - the device has rectifier, so both combinations are valid.

That won't hurt the thing, but it will be more hot than if you would use something from 7V to 9V.

I used an old ZX Spectrum power supply with my SatanDisk and it worked fine .. at least I think it was a 9v ex-Speccy power supply :)

Thank Heavens! I was worried it would be a Maplins job. Once Maplins become involved in a project it is doomed. Doooomed I tell you!

Just had a look at my PSU and it's an NTL one - a throwback to the times when I used to be on Virgin broadband about 2 years ago.

HDDRIVER is $60! I don't want to pay that much for software, especially since I will be spending enough money already on UltraSatan itself instead!

UltraSatan is working fine with ICD PRO, too. I've just done and uploaded a small how-to for ICD PRO:

Very cool tutorials Jookie. Although for me that same ICD Pro Program shows entirely in English. I think it checks the TOS and is location aware. i.e. 'You' have a German or Germanic TOS, which is why the program shows in German for you. Not that it matters. It's easy to follow anyway. :D

What's the limit of the size of SD cards to use on UltraSatan? Partitions should/can't not be larger than what? I am a little confused with this.

And another stupid question: I am planning on buying a Falcon 030. Does the UltraSatan work with that too?
Edit: Found the answer myself. The Falcon has no ASCI port. :(

UltraSatan was tested and works with cards up to 8BG (the 8GB was tested, I didn't found a larger card in the city where I live, but it should work with the maximum possible size).

About the partition sizes, etc., just look here:

The first mainframe I worked on had only 1GB online..........

I think 8GB is ample!

I have 8gb dvd-dl "complete"(i think) software for st, but thats duble copys on dvd anyway..
Maybe some one wants 16gb cards idunno. that will be 32 gb of software while using 2 of slots.

In my opinion 8gb*2 slots= 16gb os software, thats like 4-5 dvd movies :D or like 4 munts of mp3's on your st. But lator on you can make pacth for 16gb per slot...

Well, if there would be someone who could do the mp3 decompression (maybe just a port of some mp3 decoder from linux) with that little RAM (16 kB) then the UltraSatan could do the mp3 decompression for ST :) But that little memory probably won't be enough. But I could do another ACSI device based on the same HW, but with 8 MB SDRAM and with ethernet controller, so it could have a TCP/IP stack on it (instead of using stack on ST) and do the mp3 decompression then  But who knows if there would be the interrest for such device...

Nikolas/Ego wrote:But lator on you can make pacth for 16gb per slot...

Well, yes... But as I said - it should work with 16 GB and 32 GB cards right now, but I didn't test it... (and if it won't, then I will make the patch :) (new firmware).

Not for me. I'm more than happy to transfer files using SD card.

If you're looking for the NEXT big thing then I'd push a MegaSTe/TT : VME Gfx card with integrated scandoubler with scan rate converter ;)
