Outline 2008 announcement

Postby earx » Wed Oct 10, 2007 7:19 am

Hi fellow Atarians!

For those of you that want to visit a big Atari party next year: The Outline party is getting its fifth birthday next year! We have reserved the party place already. For newbies: it's an annual party in The Netherlands during springtime, mostly demo and game oriented. It's focussed on atari but has had a visitors from the PC, Commodore, MSX and Oric (IIRC).

I may add that at this moment there are rumours of several bigger ST demos to be released at this event =)

Copy-paste from http://bbs.dhs.nu/scene/index.php?request=12189:

----

For those who didn't hear it through the grapevine yet:

The 5th edition of Outline will take place from Thursday May 1 to Sunday May 4 (Ascension weekend!) at the premises of Te Boomsgoed in Braamt (same location as in 2007 and 2005). The rental contract has been signed some weeks ago, so there is 0% doubt left in our minds :-)

As this event will mark Outline's first lustrum, we are counting on your support to make it the biggest and best Outline party so far. Please be vocal if you have ideas, plans or suggestions for the organising team! And be sure we will be announcing some nice suprises for visitors in the months ahead... :-)

Barring any house moves or job changes which meant I missed out on this year's event, I'll be going.

Just off to touch some wood, make sure my fingers remain crossed at all times and I *might* even going to buy some of that 'lucky' heather just to make sure :)

Will use the occasion to fly out a day early and stay a day later and make it into a mini-holiday too :)

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

*BUMP*

http://bbs.dhs.nu/scene/index.php?request=12765

that's a paste from dhs.nu . in the recent days quite alot of interesting stuff has been going on. various ST demos have been rumoured, as well as the usual bootsector releases. there are also going to be performances by chip(musicians)/dj's : possibly outside if the weather allows it!

stay tuned!

I was going to go to Outline this year, and I still might, but some changes in my life lately are preventing me from committing to a big trip like that any time soon.

I'm still wrestling with the idea though. If there will be an Outline '09 in the Netherlands (I have 100% Dutch heritage!), then I will feel better about missing this one. By next year, I'll probably have a prod to contribute hopefully.

Anyway, thanks for the news earx, I'm looking forward to party reports, photos, and the inevitable releases in may!

Hmmm, as I'll start in my new job on April 7th, I can't tell yet...May 1st is holiday here in .de, so only May 2nd remains as a ? in the list. If I don't have to work on this day (really dunno yet), I might join the wagon :D (As Ill be still fresh in my job I really doubt I'll be able to claim it as a holiday in case I have to work)

@Earx: I'll let you know in time...

ssb: alright, i completely understand your professional situation. you always gotta try a bit harder when first starting a job. keep me informed :)

bullis: haha, another dutchie? i hope you like the dutch countryside. outline is always right in the middle of that. we are not sure about outline2009. mostly we wait until the aftermath of this year's party has faded away and then decide if it's worth it. mostly it is, but you never know ;)

I'm hoping it is so. I'll probably be heading to the Netherlands this year after all, but during the summer. A few months too late unfortunately :( However, please have fun at Outline for me

You're a busy man. Busy going festivals and taking time off it seems. Why can't I be that kind of "busy"

I can't stand those "2 weeks in a hot climate" type of holidays loved by so many British people. Would get so bored just sat there reading a book and slowly cooking myself into pain!

Would rather spend the time at a weekend event (plus days either side so not rushing around trying to arrive/leave in the same 2 days) and chill out and have some fun. Plus the bonus of not having any kids means I can do what I want, when I want :)

*BOING*

As some of you may know the previous installments of the Outline party featured a few performances and DJ's. We're carrying forth the tradition and we upgraded it too: If the weather allows it, we're going to have a live stage outdoors! :)

For this year we can already confirm the following acts:

gwEm (UK), Dipswitch (DE), Lotek Style (DE) and Bitchbenders (NL)

Stay tuned for more info!

And if you are still not convinced for coming, STOT will be there and we have some activities too. Read about it in the STOT intro. :)

P.S. A small bug in the intro means it needs 2MB's of RAM to run... sorry about that will try to fix it later.
