Move if needed.

Postby MystikShadows » Thu Sep 06, 2018 12:21 am

Hey everyone,

I haven't posted in quite a while. Move this if need be.

I tried downloading the aranym emulator today and it seems something's way wrong with what I download. Can any of you please point me in the right direction?

Thank you all. :)

Where did you downlod it from, and which version? The official page has moved to github. There you also find download links, at the top of the readme.

If you are running under Windows, take a look here :

I've made an Aranym setup wich run Beekey "out of the box" based on the work of Faucon2001...

... a setup with an ancient Aranym version (0.9.16) Can you explain what problems you got there, and why the current version does not work as expected? (with current i mean a recently compiled version, not 1.02 which is also already 4 years old)

Yes ThorstenOtto.

Because with version 1.xx under Windows I encounter many sound problems (distortion, creak, repetition...) and with 0.9.16 is much much better...
(Windows 7, I5 4 cores 3.2ghz, 8go)

Don't know why... Under Linux, version 1.xx working fine for the sound... (Latest Kubuntu, I5 4 cores 3.2ghz, 8go)

I think it's the SDL2 libs who making problems under Windows, but I'm not sur...

Sorry for my poor english again...

That's why we also provide binaries compiled with SDL 1.2 ;) Did you try these? It would be quite disappointing to have 6 years of development just ignored

Are you talking about aranym-1.0.2-sdl1 ?

With this version GemJing make a big creak at start then play the sound
No problems with MP3 and ANIPLAY, but the same MP3 with MXPlay, like GemJing : big creak at the start of the music...
With SCUMMVM sounds (voices or music) enter inside an infinite loop then Aranym is totally freezed (need to use CTRL ALT SUP to quit) same thing with PMDoom from Patrice Mandin...

With version 0.9.xx I have no problems...
