Super_TT is for a ATI MACH Card, I think ...

vme16m.jed is the right one for the ET4000.

Not all ET4000 cards are working with the Nova adapter

Then this can surely be a problem with ET4000.

ok i burned the new GAL file, and looks like i get 2 bombs when i bootup the driver files from Auto folder. 2 bombs is a Bus error, hmmm

BUS error can be because DTACK is not asserted. so check DDTACK out of the GAL (pin 17), It goes through U3:A so check pin 2 of the 74ls05.
Other possibilities is that the addressing is wrong and the GAL never decodes the right address, Tt uses A20, A21, LA22 and A23.
So this could be some setting with LA22 on J2/J3 (J3 select between TT and MSTE).
That's all I can say from the diagram posted by Frank and your result.
Regards,
Rodolphe

PS: I would really like one of these for my MSTE :)

thanks rodolphe for chimming in, i will check that. Well i made this adaptor the old school way lol, i dont have access to any drafting programs, but i am pretty happy how it turned out, it's not pretty, but everything came along pretty well. Will see how this turn's out, if it turns out to be the Graphics card i may just halt this project as MACH ISA cards are scarry pricey!!!!! prices for a MACH 32 go for about $125 if you can find one, and MACH 64's are well into the $200 range ouch!!!

I agree that the biggest issue os finding video cards.
Redoing the schematics in Eagle would probably take me an hour or two top. But what's the point if I can't find a card for it.

makes perfect sense, i wish like yo have said before, someone would design an FPGA type graphics card! this would be the best method for us.

ok after trying different GAL files i seem to have some kind of success with "plus_ii.jed" Now i have been trying many different Drivers and i get no success. Now i found this program (thanks to frank.lucas) in the NOVA.ZIP archieve called "Cardtype.prg" i ran this program without the Nova Drivers of course and i got some kind of checkered output from ET4000/Nova adaptor. I asume i am in the right path and my PCB (nova) designed seems to be ok because it is outputting these aritfacts. So i am happy to take in any feed back in what you guys think??? my guess is i am not finding the right or correct drivers? whats your thoughs? thanks :D

hi qq1975 good question i have not tried it, but from what i know the NOVA drivers need to be installed before NVDI if i am correct. Anyhow i got some more progress with this problem, now i am able to get output from the graphics card now and i can barely see the GEM Desktop, but it is very very distorted, but i can very very dimly see the desktop and the mouse cursor move, atleast the drivers are detecting the NOVA/ET4000 and outputting. Hmmm i wonder if this is hardware related or software related. But atleast the drivers are communicatin with the graphics card and outputting some distorted artifacts, i wonder if anyone else has expierienced this issue? :) look at pic attached:

Are you loading the nvdi drivers ?
If you don't that might explain the display as the standard TOS doesn't know how to address the proper bit depth for the card in that resolution.

NVDI 5 are not working with the Nova Adapter ...

You'd have to adjust the Addresses from the Adapter, I think and it´s ET4000 only. NVDI have no support for the ATI cards.

It is not necessary to load the nova driver, simple run the nova vmg program to test the adapter and the card ...

yes I have done this and I still get garbage output at a variety of resolutions, it doesn't seem to help with the garbage output. But on the other hand VMG is decting my NOVA/ET4000 and outputting video.

Remember how I removed the daughter board? and mounted the CPU directly, so now the clock has changed to 16mhz, I am assuming this 16mhz is affecting the Nova/Et4000, that is a possibility no?

As far as I know the VME bus SYSCLK signals is 16MHz on the TT (comes from U705 74LS244 pin 18 which is CLK16D buffered).

ya i see that on the schematic of the TT and goes to pin 10 ROW A on VME. i will check this pin and see what i get! thanks rodolphe

ok: i checked this signal and i am getting a 16.3Mhz signal. The signal is someone like a pyrmid shape is this acurate? i would asume a sinasoidal wave?

I would expect something more like a square wave than triangular out of a 74LS244..

i asume the signal wave is correct because, the 16Mhz signal is coming out from the TT Video IC, and it branches out to many other IC's like: TTSCU, MCU, ect ect. so all those IC's that are being injected with the 16Mhz signal are working correctly,

ok h here is update, this is the best video output i can get after going threw ton's of different setting's using VMGTT.PRG. This seems maybe like a Graphic card incompatability no? the resolution is set at 1024x768x256 60hz. I have also tried many many different drivers and all with same results, i can not get the standard resoution in 640x480x256 also, this seems strange to me. what are your opinions? is this a graphic card problem or my nova adaptor build? thanks guys

my Nova drivers compiler setup is not on my desk rigth now, but did you try any of my drivers?
I guess it is a TT version you need? Look at: http://silicon-heaven.org/atari/nova/TT/

A picture of your ET4000 card might also help

Hi idek, yes i have tried your drivers with same results, also frank.lucas sent me his 60mb archieve of drivers, and i have tried mostly all of them with also same results.
Here is pic of the ET4000 card.
