No. I am talking about the surface mounted chip between the VGA bios and the pin header.

80MHz, RAM 256 x 18, 7V CMOS, for High Res. Graphics.

is this one you wan?

Yes...the RAMDAC is what I was asking about. Unfortunately, I do not have a ET4000 with this RAMDAC in my collection, which will make it somewhat difficult. Can you get a different ET4000 card? I will setup my TT and have a look at things, but I don't expect to be able to provide a solution from here.

Well i do have 1 more ISA graphic card, it is a Trident TVGA9000B, i understand there is no drivers for this one eh? I will need to order another ET4000 from ebay, but they are getting hard to find and pretty expensive nowadays. I will need some time to order one, when i do i will post another reply on here, but it will be a short while before i order another.

Try to look for a card that is in my list that I posted here! I will investigate your RAMDAC anyway, maybe I can find a solution.

I have a TR9C1710 and a w82c490P that work. I also own several other ET4000 cards, but need to check the driver compatibility first.

They were quite common 20+ years ago. In fact so common and relatively cheap that most of them got tossed, while cards like the ATI Mach 32/64 were expensive and people hesitated a bit more before throwing them out.

Good news, i sucessfully got this setup working! Problem seemed to be, poor Ground on the Nova adaptor, i laid down some better ground which is required for high speed circuits, and she came to life. Thanks to you all who helped out!

I had the good fortune of finding a Mach64 ISA 2MB card on ebay. It wasn't cheap but it brought my adapter back to life. Yay!

Hi Frank, do you have to program it differently depending on mach32/64 or different vram amounts?

I not know exactly what you mean ?

For the ISA ATI MACH Cards you need a different GAL, thats all !

The MACH DRAM Cards are also fine, the VRAM once are a little bit quicker ...

Not all MACH Cards working it depends on the RAMDAC.

Yes for the original Nova when it was upgraded from Mach32 to Mach64 I remember a different GAL was needed. So there are 3 GAL configurations? ET4000, Mach32 and Mach64?

So if I have ATI Mach 64 and an ET4000 cards, Then I will need a different GAL to test each???
