I am a very happy user of the ECL2VGA tenox made available to us for the very first time in TT history.

It is a great product and it works very reliable. I think, it´s worth every penny I paid.

It is great to see, that alternative solutions are in the works. However a working "veroboard design" is still far away from a product, that anyone else can just buy, hook it up and work with it right away. Alanh´s development is a great step, but still miles away from being a practical solution for a TT user. As an engineer myself, I know, what I am talking about.

Nonetheless, great work, alanh. I may need a second ECL to VGA converter and will be happy to get me one, when it is ready to go. So keep up the great work and the TT community posted on the progress!

i think if you need to buy one then fine !!! some people dont
but sitting building something esp an external device is fun
and it should have been also in kit form as many schools still have these machines and cleaver teachers who can still get use out of them to teach basic int control etc

but man there are thousands of examples of ecl to TTL

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ecl+t ... 80&bih=941

if people wish to make them
but charging 100 sterling for £10 max of parts and board leaves a big profit
and sometimes doesnt work with the devices used what is needed is a blit based test card prog to 'see' digitally where the bad memory is if infact there is bad memory or funnels
as i have seen posts from about 20 people with later machines that cant get it to work perfectly

Did you ever get that Extron converter box working for TT-High? I've got a VME card in my TT that goes up to XGA in colour, but it's not a speed demon, and the idea of a larger faster display, even in mono, is quite appealing for some tasks.

I had Extron for a while and I could never get it to work even in a slightest way. I also wouldn't expect Extron to produce enough quality for it to be usable on an LCD panel.
