Jagpad-Adaptor for Joystickports on Falcon?!

Postby moondog/.tSCc. » Fri Jul 10, 2009 7:28 pm

Hello together,

to make it possible to offer the same controls for any player at a dynabusters-sessions, I just wonder if there was ever some kind of adaptor to use the jagpads instead of a normal joystick on the joystick ports on the Falcon, even with limited functionality (fire and up/down/left/right would do fine)...

If someone knows about such thing, it would be cool if you could share your knowledge :D

Thanx in advance,

moondog

It is certainly possible. For wiring diagrams, check the EJP FAQ: http://www.atari-forum.com/wiki/index.php/The_Atari_Enhanced_Joystick_Ports_FAQ
I'd like to have some myself but sofar I didn't found the time to build any.

Going off-topic a bit, but I was wondering...

While the JagPads can be used with certain games on the
Falcon and STe's enhanced joystick ports, was there ever
a mod that let the JagPads be used with any ST's normal
joystick ports?

I always liked the feel of the JagPads myself... :)

EDIT: Hmm, re-reading, looks like thats what the OP was
asking, but I'm asking for *all* ST's, not just the Falcon.

That's what Moondog was asking for - and this should allow to use a jagapd on *ANY* system with Atari standard DB9 joystick connector, e.q. Atari 2600, 7800, the 8Bit, C64 ets.

Hi Sunny,

will have a look on it even though I don´t know if I would have the nerves to make one by myself :? But seems to be some kind of market leak :D I wonder if someone with better technical equipment is going to make a little charge of them then?

Greetings and thanx,

Well if I understand the schematic correct, it is nothing more than soldering the wires to the right pins on the connectors.
But a possible market possibility yeah, I'd be in to get one or two of those ;)
